NEW ARTICLE: Ryanair issues warning for 2016 "A third boost to LSE:RYA:Ryanair's full-year profit guidance in as many months and a pledge to return €400 million (£301.6 million) to shareholders is clearly good news. However, with shares in the budget airline having rallied in recent months, ..."[link]

Share Price Anyone got a theory for the sharp rise of 7% this morning?

Re: Open Offer I certainly for one think the BOD has alerted the market too much to the need for more shares. Why would share holders buy new shares in a placing when they can probably buy cheaper on the open market?

AMED Thediceman 02 Feb 2015

Do they still own that random £5,000 investment in Ashcout Rowan? Just been taken over.... SP is up 54%. Might as well fill the board with useles bits of news while we wait for something to happen! 😐

FTE camcon13 02 Feb 2015

Open Offer It's interesting to note the that we are heading to where we started from in sp terms, because the news released to date is mainly concerned with "jam tomorrow" and fund raising near future. Not a good combination for sp advancement IMO until after any fund raising has taken place. This brings me to the Open Offer. This will have to be discounted to the market price as it wouldn't make sense for investors to take part in the open offer when they can obtain them at a lower sp on the open market. Therefore the lower the sp, the lower the offer price translating into a higher number of shares required to raise the necessary capital and, therefore, the greater the dilution. Whether MR and the BoD gambled on the existing news to increase the sp or whether there is more news to come capable of lifting the sp is anyones guess. I'm not holding my breath at the moment.

May not yet be dead duck. But still seems a poorly thing. I hope it survives, but I am not optimistic.

Re: The way things are going... Although Norman Williams flagged up the poorer copper grades and low copper price in his reassuringly upbeat report on Q1 2015 results on December 9th, I think the turn of events means we need more information from Management, particularly - 1] In what way has the situation worsened in less than 2 months from being upbeat in December to now, 7 weeks later, with staff layoffs etc., the news of which has resulted in the share price falling by a third in one trading day, making in all a total fall of a half since the December report?2] What is the Company's view of the current SP (12-13p) at the time of writing? Are the Directors content that this represents a fair SP for the company's assets or, with its cash reserves etc, do they consider the SP to undervalue the company's assets?3] If they consider the company to be grossly undervalued, what plans (if any) do they have to bolster the SP before the low SP attracts the attention of asset strippers etc., encouraged by what may seem like lacklustre performance by Management?

Re: New email from Philip Manduca I dipped in again last Friday to add another tranche at 5.50p (could have got them cheaper during the day but I was out so had to put in a limit order). I've got what I believe is a large enough holding now (about 6% of portfolio) so will probably hold fire now and wait for Philip Manduca et al to get digging. His email posted by Swooped is certainly interesting and clearly suggests they hope to add another mine. I just hope they pay the right price for it (or less). GS

Re: Strange Interesting paccamac... it seems easier to find companies that fail rather than ones that succeed. It's usually up the stairs and down the escalator for shares. This does seem overpriced! Could be a short coming up!
