Got a few. Go Woody! - finally some good news! Although Doug, I think 94 is a bit early to bail and may well be when momentum starts to recover. Woody’s value style has been badly out of favour for a couple of years now, but markets seems to be starting to turning around again now to recognise value again, so I think this could be the start of a long but slow progression. Interestingly, I saw a comment last year which said that in this kind of entrepreneurial fund, often the bad investments tend to go bad quickly while the good ones take time to bloom, so I’m not put off by a bad year or two in this case, as it is under the experience eye of Woodford.

Got a few. Ripley - I dunno why you always put kisses in your messages, but thanks, I do like them. This thread started in December 2015 … we really are being “Patient” ! I’m up too now (finally). They’re at a Year High and been moving up promisingly since lows of March. Also they’ve hit my year end target and well into my end 2019 target. I’ll be hanging on patiently for 94p bail. Any lurkers out there care to comment ?

Autolus pricing for Nasdaq IPO - WPCT gain From Hargreaves Lansdown(Sharecast News) - Autolus Therapeutics has confirmed the pricing for its initial public offer on the Nasdaq index of the New York Stock Exchange, providing a monetary boost for shareholders including Syncona, the Woodford Patient Capital fund and Arix Bioscience. In the Securities and Exchange Commission registration statement for its IPO, Autolus gave an indicative pricing range for the proposed offering of $15-17 per American depositary shares, each of which will represent one ordinary share.Autolus, which is a biopharmaceutical company developing next-generation programmed T cell therapies for the treatment of cancer, proposed a maximum aggregate offering amount in the SEC filing of $125m.For the Woodford fund, which owns a 20% stake of Autolus that makes up 4.35% of the trust's investments, the pricing would represent an increase in value of its current shareholding in Autolus of £25.9-35.1m or 3.1p-4.2p per WPCT share, compared its valuation in April.

Does anyone know why Woodford sold the entire holding in listed VC firm Draper Esprit (Ticker: GROW)? This company would seem to align very well with Woodfords previously stated aims and values, and gives instant exposure to a large stable of promising early stage tech. companies which is managed by folks with a very good track record in VC?

News from iii board! The demotion of Woodford Patient Capital trust (WPCT) from the FTSE 250 (MCX) is no shock after a truly awful run of results from the manager's portfolio picks. The trust is down over 38% from peak to trough, and buying even at these low levels requires a leap of faith.

Re: Premium too high "Does anyone still think this is a good long-term play, even at this price, I wonder?" - even at 9% I think it's not discounted enough.Look at CLDN with it's unlisted equity exposure? - 19% discount. HGT is on a premium at the moment, but when I bought the first tranche it was a big discount. I think, but now sure, very much greater than 9%.These sort of high risk, high return stocks are best bought when the wheels come off.But that's when the wheels come off the market, not the holdings. You want a deep discount for taking on the risk. Hold it in a ISA maybe, but second hand VCT's might be a better way to play the high growth game, and they come with income and tax advantages. AvoidDL

Have a little faith For those who have exited this share in disgust now might be the time to look again at buying with a view to a short term profit of 10 to 12 per cent.

Re: Have had enough .... As of last trade Woodford Patient Capital Trust PLC (WPCT:LSE) traded at 73.47, 4.22% above its 52-week low of 70.50, set on Mar 19, 2018.As of last trade IP Group PLC (IPO:LSE) traded at 137.00, -13.51% below its 52-week high of 158.40, set on Dec 01, 2017. - I'm back to watching IPOThey've been at this a lot longer, in my mind they have structual advantages in reaching start-ups and looks like they offer a better opportunity for a decent entry point. It looks as if "risk off" is the order of the day, so I might add IPO and income stocks if real value opens up.DL - putting my WPCT downloads in the trash as I type.
