Got a few. Got to agree. Yesterday’s buyers made no difference to sentiment here. I’m pretty sure Woodford can only stop the for 28 days at best. Then this get a shut down imo not long after

Got a few. Dont worry you will have plenty of opportunity to buy much lower. He invested in low quality companies some were clearly never going to profitable. He had a huge amount of money burning a hole in the pocket when this floated and due diligence was not done properly. I stated this years ago and you can still see this in the various threads. Industrial heat was the killer for me it’s a scam and is worth 0 dollars not 4 billion what an idiot woodford is to be taken for a ride by these crooks. And by the way I called this years ago on this forum and was ridiculed. Well I sold at a small loss. You would all be wise to leave now while there is something left.

Got a few. WPCT… XXXXX Just picked some more up at 65p my lowest buy .

Uncle_Doug 05 Jun 2019

Got a few. Really? You may be right but I reckon it was massively oversold in the panic. The Woodford name is taking a bashing but the underlying shares are what matters. Make money when others are fearful as Buffett says. It came back from 62p to close at 71p. A rise of 14.5% if you bought at the bottom. Seems there are plenty of buyers too. Anything under 77p is a good BUY opportunity and anything sub 72p is an absolute no brainer bargain.

Premium too high Unlike a fund an investment trust(IT) has an equity capital base and the only way a holder can “redeem” their investment is by sale of the shares in the market;so unlike a fund the IT does not have the liquidity problems a fund finds when it falls into disfavour and investors head for the exit.Investors in ITs merely find their share price falls until buyers match sellers. However with WPCT I have concerns regarding the valuation given to many of its unquoted investments.I know it is a difficult area but they seem very high in some cases.I think even in a normal situation a substantial discount to NAV is justified. It might be interesting to watch activist fund Crystal Amber they have previously bought WPCT when it was at a high discount.I think they have now sold out but if they start to buy again it may indicate they see value…

Premium too high The odd things is; if you buy small growth companies on the private market you do so at a premium, but if you buy then on a public market you can get them at a discount. I’m waiting to see if it breaches -30% I wouldn’t be suprised. You can see the fallout on his listed holdings. Summer can be great for a bargain with thin trading. The opposite if you are trying to sell. DL

Premium too high I don’t think it is purely down to sentiment Uncle_Doug. Almost three quarters of the WPCT assets are in companies also owned by the WEIF. Woodford have said they are going to restructure the fund by moving money out of the less liquid companies. When the selling starts I would think we are going to take a hit to our NAV. And then there’s the 9% of the WPCT held by the WEIF… Will they sell that? I’m not selling yet, but not buying either.

Uncle_Doug 04 Jun 2019

Got a few. … or maybe not

Uncle_Doug 04 Jun 2019

Premium too high Wheels have fallen off as Woodford suspends dealing in his other fund - Equity Income. WPCT is down ~10% today - pure sentiment - discount to NAV is 24%. It’s risky I know but IMHO worth tucking a bit away here at these prices.

devonplay 04 Jun 2019

Premium too high So now according to HL the discount is -19%. Tempted yet? Not really. But at least it’s at the same leve you’ve been abe to buy the much better options of CLDN & HGT in the past. Goes on my watchlist now with the expectation of an even greater discount that might offer a bargain, a patient bargain. DL DL
