D-Wave Breaks 1,000 Qubit Barrier "Palo Alto, CA - June 22, 2015 - D-Wave Systems Inc., the world's first quantum computing company, today announced that it has broken the 1000 qubit barrier, developing a processor about double the size of D-Wave’s previous generation and far exceeding the number of qubits ever developed by D-Wave or any other quantum effort. This is a major technological and scientific achievement that will allow significantly more complex computational problems to be solved than was possible on any previous quantum computer. ..."[link] smashes quantum computing record with 1,000 qubit systemAnthony CuthbertsonJune 29, 2015 11:39 BSTQuantum computing company D-Wave Systems has unveiled the world's most powerful quantum computer processor, double the size of previous generations used in the ultra-powerful machines. At 1,000 qubits, the new processor is capable of considering 21000 possibilities simultaneously. To give an idea of the size of such processing capabilities, this new search space considers more possibilities simultaneously than there are particles in the observable universe. ... "[link]

Re: Suspension RNS TOUCHSTONE GOLD TO BE RENAMED GOS SYSTEMS1/07/2015 070 UKREG Touchstone Gold Limited Notification of suspension" ... The Company's investment in GOS Systems ("GOS", a security sector focused technology business, is at the core of Touchstone's investment strategy. In the opinion of the Board, GOS has become an important and valuable asset. TGL's recently announced investment in Cambridge Quantum Computing Limited is complementary to the GOS business, as is TGL's investment in Smart Desk Systems Limited. It has now been resolved by the TGL Board, subject to shareholder approval, that:-- any future acquisitions that might be made will be complementary to GOS;-- GOS' chief executive officer Jamie Ridealgh be appointed to TGL's Board as TGL chief executive officer; and-- the Company's name be changed to GOS Systems. This is a proposed fundamental change of business constituting a reverse takeover under Rule 14 of the AIM Rules; it will therefore be conditional upon the publication of an admission document by the Company and the approval of the Company's shareholders at a general meeting. The Company would seek re-admission to AIM as an operating company and not as an investing company under the AIM Rules.A further announcement regarding progress of the above proposals will be made in due course. The Company also looks forward to providing shareholders with an update on commercial activity post 31st December 2014. The directors note that progress continues to be better than expected. ..."[link] continues to be better than expected': how many small companies say that?Just yesterday for example, AERO (which I follow but don't hold) said the reverse, as do numerous others.A name change from Touchstone Gold is clearly long overdue, and GOS Systems looks like a good replacement name if it is as important and valuable as the board says. And 'promoting' Jamie Ridealgh to overall CEO looks like another logical move, and another sign of the importance of GOS Systems. In conclusion, I am very happy indeed, and delighted to be in such a cracking long-term investment.Whitelabel,This will definitely come back as GOS Systems: no worries!

Re: Price drop Whitelable,Sorry about the delay in replying.I believe that the fall has been due to (unwarranted) nervousness about TGL fulfilling its investing policy by 30th. June, failure to do which would result in suspension for up to six months, and then delisting if still not fulfilled. However, it's believed that the acquisition of GOS Systems, followed by the subsequent investment into the company, DOES fulfil the investing ploicy. Therefore the fall is unwarranted, and represents a buy opportunity.Note the slight recovery today, from 0.51p to 0.525p.

Re: 23.6.15 CQCL RNS From the latest edition of "The Economist":"Quantum computersA little bit, betterAfter decades languishing in the laboratory, quantum computers are attracting commercial interestJun 20th 2015 | From the print edition... Harnessing that power is, nevertheless, hard. Quantum computers require special algorithms to exploit their special characteristics. Such algorithms break problems into parts that, as they are run through the ensemble of qubits, sum up the various probabilities of each qubit’s value to arrive at the most likely answer. One example—Shor’s algorithm, invented by Peter Shor of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology—can factorise any non-prime number. Factorising large numbers stumps classical computers and, since most modern cryptography relies on such factorisations being difficult, there are a lot of worried security experts out there. Cryptography, however, is only the beginning. Each of the firms looking at quantum computers has teams of mathematicians searching for other things that lend themselves to quantum analysis, and crafting algorithms to carry them out.... They are concerned that encrypted communications captured now could be subjected to quantum cracking in the future. That means strong pre-emptive encryption is needed immediately.Quantum-proof cryptomaths does already exist. But it is clunky and so eats up computing power. PQCRYPTO’s objective is to invent forms of encryption that sidestep the maths at which quantum computers excel while retaining that mathematics’ slimmed-down computational elegance. ..."[link] point about pre-emptive encryption being needed NOW to protect against quantum computing developments LATER ...looks like GOS-CQCL have the right product at the right time.Maybe someone should send today's TGL RNS to "The Economist"!I think that today's RNS also increases the likelihood of a CQCL RTO (or similar) into TGL later this year.Because CQCL and GOS Systems will be almost like 'sister' companies ... so having them both in the same stockmarket listing (though as separate and distinct companies) makes perfect sense.

23.6.15 CQCL RNS Well done to the teams at TGL and CQCL for today's ground-breaking, 'silver bullet' development.23/06/2015 08:30 UKREG Touchstone Gold Limited CQCL investment" ... In addition to Touchstone making the investment, Touchstone investee GOS Systems has been granted exclusive reseller distribution rights over CQCL's forthcoming Quantum Key Encryption ("QKE" products which will be targeted at governments and corporations that have high security requirements. The sales right covers European sales of the products and the products are expected to be available for sale from 2016 onwards. The sales right has been granted for a period of 3 years following the first availability of product. The Directors believe that QKE products will become essential for sensitive communications as soon as the requisite infrastructure is developed. Countries as diverse as China, Russia, the United States of America and the United Kingdom are investing heavily in quantum technologies, and quantum cryptography is a vital aspect of the motivation for these investments. Given the advantages that quantum cryptography will have over classical systems of secure communications, governments and security agencies will be an important and large market.GOS is an established supplier to law enforcement and security agencies in UK, Europe, Middle East and South Asia. GOS's established customer network and market expertise is capable of driving sales of CQCL's forthcoming QKE products, and supports GOS's strategy of capitalising on the increasing demand for secure communication products. ... Two YellowSnow posts from LSE, 27.5.15 Two good YellowSnow posts from LSE yesterday:"YellowSnowPosts: 15ObservationOpinion: Strong Buy Price: 0.67 Thoughts Wed 174Yes there should be another 1 or 2 holding RNS's. But these can come anytime. What I personally think is going on is there is a far bigger that we have to look at, but are yet to be able to see what we are looking at! A purchase of another company perhaps a larger company at the bleeding edge of Cryptography is my hunch, and an RTO of it. There are also a number ( I count 2 + dwave ) quantum computing companies in Canada that look interesting and wonder if because of their domicile they might amalgamate the three. maybe even CQCL down the road. However I would suspect they would be lining up a profitable candidate that will bolt on nicely to GOS- SYSTEMS, to give them serious leverage in the Cryptographic arena and bagging big accounts that they can stitch easily into their current network and the revenue will flow quickly to bottom line as the deals and deal size increase.Internationally from the RNS's they sound like they are doing very well indeed, hence the need to increase all elements of the platform and network to accommodate increased customers and customers usage of said network. Now this is in place and elements are being upgraded, they must be chomping at the bit to get the deal base humming.V undervalued for a high tech fast growing leading company.DY OR CHeerS"[link] 15ObservationOpinion: Strong Buy Price: 0.67 FurtherWed 17:11I meant to say, There is a bigger Picture. And that if things don't leak out, then all will be revealed over the next 8 weeks.
