Fast Diminishing SP My take is that the following two factors have most contributed to the SP free-fall:1) 1:20 Share Consolidation - cannot understand the logic re. this move!!! - the effect of which was immediate, and profound2) the $87.5m Vele Impairment - this is massive! - Vele's resources are comparable if not better than Makhado (361Mt vs 345Mt), or 15X the size of Uitkomst (23Mt) [Uitkomst purchased for $20.6m) - Eagerly awaiting MCM's plan (end June?) for Vele - a Sale?, and at what price? the BB's punted sale value of a paltry ~$20m-$25m is concerning

Musina-Makhado SEZ Chinese government lends support to Musina-Makhado SEZGovernment is making good progress in the establishment of the ferroalloy industrial park at the Limpopo-based Musina-Makhado Special Economic Zone (SEZ), as a result of the support of the Chinese government, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) SEZ deputy director-general Sipho Zikode said on Friday.“I led a delegation to China a few weeks ago and we met several Chinese companies which showed an interest in investing in the Musina-Makhado SEZ. These engagements have borne fruits because today the Limpopo Economic Development Agency will be signing memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with many prospective investors,” said Zikode. As part of the international investment promotion and marketing of South Africa’s SEZs and industrial projects, the DTI signed an MoU with China's National Development Reform Commission in 2016.The agreement focused on specific projects such as investment promotion, industrial infrastructure, mineral processing, manufacturing and human capital development. “The Chinese have committed to a ferroalloy smelter, coal-fired power generating units, infrastructure and supporting facilities at the Musina-Makhado SEZ and we are impressed that this commitment is bearing results,” he noted.

Re: Share Price Weakness Agreed buzz.It doesn’t take a lot to move this stock and went from 31p to 25/28p on nothing. I added a few more (massively overweight here). Large holders aren’t selling according to company and with low free float hoping this can revalue as quickly. Market value so different from sum of parts

Share Price Weakness Now shown as 26-29p. I am somewhat bemused by this continual share price slippage despite MCM's improving fortunes. I presume that there is not much demand for his share until some key events are achieved, but small persistent selling is driving down the price? The value of the UK trades are insignificant in terms of the company's capitalisation.I have already bought enough MCM considering my portfolio distribution. Whether others have any more wriggle room is another question. The price of coal still seems to be strong to me so I am just going to wait things out for the expected progress to materialise. The B

Re: Coal prices Yes I have also noted further rises since my last post on the price of coal. Using this link:-[link] can see that the price of coal to December 2024 is over $90/mt. That should give much support to any valuation being attached to a coal mine with a strong price so far into the future. .. and yet the share price of MCM has not reflected this strong price of coal - so one wonders how the current share price is being justified at being so low?The B

Coal prices Still going up[link] USD/Rand up so coal prices in rand almost getting to levels last seen in 2008. Should help Vele valuations- assume we'll announce intention to sell in June following board meeting. Maybe even the sale as due diligence been going on.

Re: Iran Crisis - Oil Price up - and als... Can only assume this is being manipulated lower so someone can take it over

Re: Iran Crisis - Oil Price up - and als... Nice purchase buzz. Locked in a few cheap uns myself. Too much good news in the pipeline for us to stay at these levels.

Re: Iran Crisis - Oil Price up - and als... Yes I realised that I had inadvertently used MLM instead of MCM after I had posted. It is a puzzle why the share price should fall when the price of coal has rebounded so strongly with the jump in the price of oil. Currently over $100/mt and over $90/mt for some time to come:-[link] topped up with 7k shares at 31.4245p a share. That is a really low price. A dummy buy for 10k also got the same price. At this price MCM must surely be vulnerable to interest from trade buyers - certainly now that the accounts have been cleared up.The B

Re: Iran Crisis - Oil Price up - and also Co... Big (9%) drop in the MCM (why MLM - The Buzz?) share price today... no real justification as far as I can see.MCM remains a long term investment for me, and I would welcome a strengthening share price and a growing business here post all the ground work done in recent years.

Re: Quarterly Report Uitkomst issue with contractors resolved. We’ve almost completed their acquisition. Should be a positive going forward.Vele - due diligence ongoing

Iran Crisis - Oil Price up - and also Coal The Iran crisis seems to be good news for MLM. The price of oil has gone up and in turn the price of thermal coal. It looks quite strong in South Africa at the moment:-[link] spotted this link on the APF web site:-[link] because coal is out of fashion, bankers will not fund large coal projects, that in turn reduces coal output and increases prices! I suspect that South Africa will need lots of thermal coal for electricity generation for many years to come and will need MLM's coal. The B

Vele Hearing potential buyer carrying out due diligence on Vele. If we can throw this out in June then we’ll be running in profit

Re: Coal Price Strong at the Moment 52p = approx $100m market capSome funds not invest unless market cap of this level

2bozmo 01 May 2018

Re: Coal Price Strong at the Moment Thought that threshold might have been gaining land access, maybe with the off take agreement. Hopefully that’s enough to get us through 50p and have enough market cap to get others investors interested.Selling Vele also makes the game more interesting as then company becomes self-sufficient with Uitkomst and potential development of North Adit. Seems like due diligence going on there so might come sooner than expected.NOMR being granted for GSP also might create some value as can start to price in project going ahead. As you say buzz, coal prices higher and also rand significant move today above 12.60.Keep looking to add and glad to see someone bought 50k today, 1m shares in old. Oney
