Peel Hunt comment on today’s RNS All this good new and yet the SP dipped again at the end of the day yesterday to 21-23p. With thermal coal price still going from strength to strength in Australia Barchart.com ICE NewCastle Coal Apr '18 (LQJ18) Futures Price Quote - Barchart.com Free futures price quote for LQJ18. View Quotes and no doubt giving some good coal revenue to MLM’s Uitkomst mine, and apparently very little trading interest again today - I feel very much like one of the few who believe that things should come out really well - but I have been waiting an awful long time now, albeit that all the problems solved over the last three years or so have effectively reset the clock from recovery to building up the company. As stated before some successive RNSs giving a track record of making good money are needed. The commencement of Makhaido without a big dilutive share issue issue and subsequent start of production are what I look to really get the company going. This feels like a bit of a rant - perhaps I am getting impatient withh all the lack of suport and slow continual erosion of the value of my porfolio? The Buzz

Peel Hunt comment on today’s RNS Additionally, facility can be used to finance North Adit or taking over contractor. Looking at price of coal in Rand, it’s up considerably on quarter and this should be reflected at next earnings statement

Peel Hunt comment on today’s RNS MC Mining | Buy | 88p TP | Uitkomst banking facility arranged MC Mining is increasingly looking like a “normal” producing mining house. Following the acquisition of the Uitkomst colliery, turning the group into a coal producer after many years, it has now arranged a general banking facility. Sized at only R20m this is intended to ensure Uitkomst can make ongoing investments to ensure that it can sustain production rates from the mine. At a 0.5% margin over the South African prime rate this also looks an inexpensive facility. The shares continue to appear underpriced relative to the value unlocked once the Makhado coking coal project starts production. We estimate EBITDA once in operation of US$75 - 80m a year. Coal: For all the articles that we read like this one saying that the coal market is doomed to history as it is replaced by renewables, we remind investors to put it into the context of their investment horizon. Peak coal in 2027? Plenty of upside until then, and at the moment the coal market is very strong. Right now, the thermal market is tight, and the major players cannot agree on an annual contract price (normally Glencore as the largest producer agrees an annual benchmark price with a Japanese utility in March). The spot price hasn’t been this high since 2012 is US$ and longer than that in A$, so Aussie based coal miners are making hay.

Delay in Shares Being Traded? 24p-24p Nominal Spread image.png993x522 72.5 KB Coal in Rand looking particularly sexy. Let’s hope selling Vele as this will help valuation.

Delay in Shares Being Traded? 24p-24p Nominal Spread Real time price not available until 08:22. Just showed 24-24p for the spread and one could not get a quote to buy shares. Presumably the market makers were having a problem with the pricing? I cannot see a new RNS. If the share had gone to auction then I would have expected a delay of no more than about 5 minutes. The shares finally opened at 24-25p and I got a quote of 24.5p a share to buy 4k shares. In a nut shell it looks like the share price has bottomed and is now making a slow recovery. The Buzz

Good News at Last - Makhado RNS As an aside, it looks to me that the value of the SA Rand versus the US$ has been dropping quite markedly recently. [link] Presumably the mining costs in Rand will now be lower in US$ and so there will be a bigger profit margin on exports. Also, assuming fund raising is in US$, presumably fewer US$ will be required to raise the required value in Rand for mine building work?

Good News at Last - Makhado RNS Thanks for update. I thought that things had moved on in a very positive way so I topped up this afternoon with a further 5k shares. As you say the extent of the drop is completely unjustified which implicitly means that shares purchased now have a very good chance of a large increase in value. What we do not know is how many shares are rattling round the market at the moment, but I suspect that any slack could disappear quite quickly if the share price starts to have some positive momentum. Good News at Last - Makhado RNS Today’s statement is very positive. The only thing stopping us from progressing Makhado is the land access. A government process through the land claims court is currently on-going, but now we’re playing hard ball it seems and will use the law: “enforcing its access rights under our MINING RIGHT.” The last statement “good progress has been made on the Makhado Project marketing and financing arrangements" is also key. A small delay to land access isn’t a big deal as we can’t start building until we have financing in place. I believe this delay to land access caused the move lower in share price, but the extent of the drop is completely unjustified when it makes no difference to the underlying time line. Maybe people will wake up when we’re on the land. When I spoke with the company some time ago we had draft off take agreement for 75% of Makhado production. We are very close here to joining the circle. I’m expecting further news in the days ahead and everything could fall in place very quickly. We have a very short (12-month) build time for Makhado which means we become cash generative very quickly. Time to buy.

Good News at Last - Makhado RNS [link] The interim interdict against the Makhado EA has been removed! ie The environmental objection has gone and MCM can proceed. NB tucked at the end of the statement "Furthermore, good progress has been made on the Makhado Project marketing and financing arrangements.” I saw the price move slightly first thing - one would have thought that the movement would have been much more substantial with this RNS, especially after the recent share price weakness. With a very strong coal price things now look set for real progress at last! The Buzz

Re: Share Price Weakness Another slippage! Now 25-27p a share. Really puzzling as the coal prices are still very strong.[link] that I can see is minimal. Sounds like the price is just drifting lower and lower until it gets a wake-up call. The B

Weak share price When David Brown was appointed as Chairman of Coal of Africa in August 2012, he said that his key priority was to re-establish shareholder value. Fast forward 5 1/2 years, it seems like little progress has been made in terms of shareholder value.Undoubtedly, the company did have many legacy issues due to poor performance of past management. The collieries were high cost producers and execution was poor. Many of the assets were grossly overpriced. But as shareholders, we owe it to ourselves to see that a competent management team is in place to run the company. I urge everyone is vote wisely at the next AGM. Notwithstanding that the majority of shares are in the hands of Institutions, but if all Private Investors club together, we can still send a strong signal.
