Price drop Reflecting the latest RNS, the selling shows investors facing reality - this is no longer a rocket share and cannot justify such a high P/E as in recent years. The drop in profits last time were explained as management taking their eye off the organisational ball and the loss of much signal/obstruction business as the previous American agent took this sector to a competitor. There was never a question over basic lighting pumping out another 30- 50% increase in volume and profit, but the direct approach taken by management to regain obstruction accounts has obviously failed judging by the single line of comment about that area in the RNS. In my view this company will regain its previous highs in profits, but may take another 2 years to reach £18m+.On that basis, a heavy duty and profitable manufacturer of industrial lighting may justify a P/E of 15 to 20, but for now the glory days of 30 are gone.PB

Re: this aint over Charlie the offer on the table is worth only 96p at ophir's current price. that is not a lot more than the SONA deal of 40% or one of the assets. I am not happy with the board taking this deal, they have screwed this up big time. Ophir would still have a revenue stream of 60% of bula and get back 70% of what they paid for the whole of SMDR. all you are capable of is to sling insults rather than put up any decent argument just watching your second rate rugby team play a 3rd rate rugby team, the commentator is getting all excited that the sweaties are beating the tongans sad sad sad.. nearly as deluded as the football team, now there is a 3rd rated team from a 3rd rate scottish premier league

Re: FLG Chart Breakout, very positive 28% premium! Thank you Aviva. Given the uncertainty over the annuity changes this is very welcome news.

Re: FLG Chart Breakout, very positive "not as much as the offer by aviva !!"Yup straining over the tea leaves takes ones gaze from the bigger picture; In the end it's always fundamentals that shift things. It's a buyout, not a breakout.

Re: Stobart Biomass latest [link] some more news in the latest Biomass investment. It's interesting to see other companies coming on board and sharing the burden rather than Stobart Group taking all the risks and having to borrow lot's of cash. Fortunately for us, Stobart seem to have learned some good lessons and have employed some new senior managers e.g. Ex Tate & Lyle boss that are keeping a closer eye on corporate governance. Let's hope this is the start of something good and our patience with Stobart Group will finally start reaping some decent returns through an increasing SP trend over the next year of so, while still getting our dividends. Interesting overview of who GCP are. They must think there is some mileage in Stobart's longer terms plan? [link] believe that the Stobart Group Board strategy is to create a a number of stand alone investments including their ongoing 49% investment in Stobart Logistics, then in five or six years down the line the group will put its self up for sale or sell of each of these infrastructure holdings including the airports for very good capital gains. This idea only really came to mind when listening to a business guru on the radio who was talking about creating the right sort of business that could be sold to much larger organisations for vast amounts of cash several years down the line. The more I was listening to what she was saying the more it seemed to fit in with Stobart's strategy. After all Mr Tinkler and Mr Stobart aren't going to want to do this job forever and they have other interests outside to keep them occupied a few years down the road after they cash in all of their chips here. Just my thoughts, but don't take my word for it do you own research before making investment decisions. GLA to those that have stayed on board here.

Dead cheap -100%+ upside. In my view has dropped to far and only valued now at just over £5 million.Had cash in bank in march of £4 million, probably dropped now to about £3.5 million leaves company (less cash) valued at about £1.5 million +. Thats mad as could possible be break even trading soon and with all the focus by the NHS on Dimentia, which this company is in the forefront, of this share stands to gain tremendously.Update due next month could surprise.

Re: new high As you say, it was a long haul, and after the dip a few weeks ago I sold half my holding to free up cash in my SIPP, unsure if the recovery in emerging markets will continue.I also own Schroder Oriental Income (SOI) which were more or less tracking SDP until recently but are now only backl to break even for me. My overall exposure in the two has been too great, and my initial purchases were both ill-timed and ill-managed. Lessons learned for an amateur who suddenly found himself with large sums from a transferred SIPP to invest and bought in tranches too big and too close together.
