Re: Onebd1 I'm really pleased you are still about, familiar good posters are a god send. I wasn't quite so lucky with VGM as was greedy, I bought about £15,000 ..... Obviously a waste of time selling them now. It's just that a letter arrived this week, saying they were offering 3.72 pence.Complete insult as by the time the brokerage charges are included it's like a car crashIt's never in our favour!!!Anyway for your information you have to let them know by the 10th February 2016 in writing if you want to sell them!Personally believe that Gold has another fair drop to come, but I believe we should be above the $1300 within a year or so, when we hit the bottom of the third you should be able to fib it for a forth wave to get that target. Eg $1340 ish perhaps. Who knows????I shall hold on as long as they will allow me to.All in My Honest Opinion if anyone else is reading this. I know nothing!!!!Good Luck Buddy, take some beers to the accountant, they are funny people when they are anebreated, totally different personalities. LOL

Re: Onebd1 Yes I hold a small amount Like £2 or £3k down to what is probably just a few quid lol . I haven't actually done anything about them and I totally forgot about VGM . But I have to decide soon I suppose . I need to read up and see what the story is , last I read was a while back . Will catch up over the weekend as it was on my to do list for a year lol Thanks for the reminder. Inland revenue weekend for me ! Morning with the accountant , feels like going to the dentist to me when I have to pay taxes ! I soooo hate it given the speculative nature of my income .

Onebd1 Long time no speak, I trust you are well.Just out of curiosity, did you hold on to these shares?I've still got a shed full, finally worked out where gold should finish its correction on the wave three down, and roughly the time frame. I'm just hoping that we will get offered a better price on the wave four up. They should be making loads of dosh by then!!!

Re: SOLD! Thanks Steven and good luck to you as well whether you decide to sell or not.I'm sure precious metals will have their day sooner or later when fiat money comes a cropper so I'll be keeping my holdings in HGM and FRES and might add others. I also have some physical gold in store bought through the best online company I could find - [link] strongly recommend them - best possible prices and very low dealing and storage costs. They were also recommended by an online poster I admire - Bill Bonner of The Daily Reckoning;Best regardsBill

Re: SOLD! Thanks Bill, that's very helpful, and much appreciated.I wish you luck with your investing elsewhere.Kind regardsSteven

Re: SOLD! Hi Milltig - The process was extremely simple. Once I got the email informing me that the facility was up and running I emailed my online brokers(not ii but I would think all online brokers will deal similarly), told them to sell my VGM holding and it was done the same day. No need to get a paper certificate first if your certificate is held in an online dealing account.Hope that helpsBill

Re: SOLD! HiPresumably you held on iii, so how did you sell via the matched facility, did you have to convert to paper first, and if so, how? Thanks for any advice you can give.RegardsMilltig

SOLD! The new W H Ireland facility seems be functioning ok - I sold my VGM holding today at 3.72p so this is my last post. Good luck to all those who've decided to hold on and not sell.I've still got a toe in the precious metals department with holdings in FRES and HGM.

Re: Just received from WH Ireland re VGM... Hi Portia - Yes have decided just to take the offer of 3.72p per share . I think the charge by WH Ireland is excessive but I guess it IS a special account that they have had to set up especially for the VGM share purchase scheme so will bite the bullet and pay to sell rather than hold as the future prospects of VGM shares being re-listed look obscure. I'll probably put the proceeds into FRES - a good divi paying mining company and a good play on the silver and gold price.

Latest Just received this email from my broker when I asked about selling my shares - ' I have today spoken to the dealer at W H Ireland. Unfortunately he was notyet in a position to take the order as the matched bargain service is not upand running yet. He is still awaiting confirmation from VGM and hopes thiswill come through in a few weeks but may take longer. He will notify us assoon as he can accept orders and we will notify you in turn at that time.'So the company is not buying the shares at the previously quoted price and it will only be possible to sell or buy through WH Ireland using the matched bargain service. If you have the shares in an online account you don't need to get a certificate - your broker will transfer them directly to the buyer.

Re: AT LAST THE OFFER!!! For me, accepting this offer returns 8% on my investment. Better than nothing, I suppose, but I'm not desparate. Vatukoula's cost per oz of gold is a hair below the gold price, so I don't expect a relisting till that moves up considerably.Zhongrun are in it for the long term and might well invest further if they thought they could get a return, and that would dilute the shares for the others of us.Even so, I reckon if the gold price rises 50% sometime over the next 10 years, these shares could come back and quadruple. I'll wait and see.
