Re: Clarity Good question! Like you my shares "disappeared" just as they did with a couple of other companies. Assuming that the company is still registered one could perhaps start from there. Many years ago I had shares in an Australian gold mine with a gain earmarked for Lotut Elan. It went bust overnight and ten years later I got a cheque out of the blue for £100. You never know.

Re: Clarity Does anyone know how VGM would contact exisiting shareholders in the event of some sort of corporate action such as a relisting or share buy back offer?Would it come through my broker (halifax) even though they no longer show VGM on my share portfolio? Or would VGM approach us direct somehow?

Re: Dead investment if the POG rises and they get their cost base into shape then morally they owe it to the remaining shareholders to re-list. This share owes me almost 15k.... That hurts

madscott 06 Feb 2018

Dead investment I hold a few of vgm shares but don’t hold out much hope of ever getting my money back, can anyone see this ever coming back to the market.

alfa-spider 23 Jan 2018

Re: Dead investment Ditto - but the fact that(like me) you still do check in means you're still hopeful !!!! We can all dream.

dobby_Bolo 23 Jan 2018

Dead investment Does anybody still actually believe in this investment? I have written mine off and check in here about once a year in the faint hope that something positive happened..........treating it like lost cash for some time now.

Still a long wait to come Maybe get some cash back in 5 years from now ha. grabbed from local Fiji Times THE Department of Mineral Resources has completed its safety audit of the Vatukoula Gold Mine.Department director Dr Raijeli Taga said while the safety audit had been completed, the mine was still subjected to monthly inspections."The continuous monitoring of the Mines Inspectorate is still carried out monthly. However, the safety audit proper has been completed," she said."But the Vatukoula Gold Mine is still in the process of meeting those requirements given by the inspection team."She said operations at the mine were yet to be fully restored.

Re: Gold at 1358 this morning Thanks for the feedback onedb1Here is a recent reply from the board for your info. Nothing new but at least it confirms what we know.Dear Mxxxxxx,If the market turns around and VGM becomes profitable,we might consider relisting VGM. RegardsIanFrom: xxxxxTo: Y. B. Ian He Sent: Monday, December 12, 2016 7:21 AMSubject: Re: VGM investmentThank you IanIf the gold market turns around and the new investment is found, is there any chance of the company re-listing?RegardsMxxxxxxxOn 12 Dec 2016, at 00:10, Y. B. Ian He <xxxxx wroteear Mxxxxx, Attached please find the audited financial statement ofVGM (unconsolidated) and audited financial statement ofZhongrun (consolidated). Since VGM's parent Zhongrun isa listed company, VGM does not prepare consolidatedfinancial statement. VGM is making effort to raise fund to invest in the miningoperation. With the current gold market however, it is veryhard to raise any fund. We hope that the gold market willturn around that has seemed to be evasive in the last threeyears. RegardsIan From: Mxxxxxxx <xxxxx>To: hexxxxxxxSent: Sunday, December 11, 2016 9:48 AMSubject: VGM investmentDear SirI am a private investor in VGM with a considerable holding since 2007. I did not sell my shares earlier this year as I believe in it´s potential.I am very much hoping for a re-listing of VGM, however I know that you cannot comment too much on this possibility.I would however be grateful if you could tell me if there is currently any interest (and the will) for further investment in VGM in order to build the new power plant, and to make the other necessary improvements? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Also looking forward to the end of year report.Best regardsMxxxxxxxBasically, I´d be keen to know if legally they must honour our shareholdng (and us as shareholders) while the company remains unlisted. I am happy to wait 5 years if that´s what it takes, as long as we can sit comfortably without being shafted in any way. I have quite a considerable 5 figure chunk invested in this company.

Re: Gold at 1358 this morning HI Northstar Sorry I totally didn't check this bb in ages . So we are technically ( those who hold shares ) still shareholders for now . This is their website . [link] I have just very few here but who knows in 5 years things may change . For now all I know is that they are managing costs better than in the past helped by depreciation of local currency , lower oil and reasonable production but are looking to reduce costs much further by changing their expensive power plant from diesel to oil . That has been a problem for many years Gold may rise in 2017 am not in the forecasting business but if inflation rises too usually the 2 are quite correlated. OR so some say , as my own analysis differs from that conclusion when I look at CPI vs GOLD> There may be some good reasons for that . Realistically if Gold was much higher VGM could turn in some good profits invest in a new power plant , and possibly re list , who knows . It may take years till then there is nothing to do here

Re: Gold at 1358 this morning onedb1 any ideas if our shares will be honoured should VGM re-list? I also did not sell my holding back in Feb 16.

northstar7 11 Dec 2016

Re: Possible Relisting AlphaCentauri there was no obligation to force sell your shares nor talk of compulsary acquisition. It was made clear that shares still held by individuals/entities would not be allowed to trade.Like I mentioned earlier, I am not too offay with re-listing rules, however if the company comes back online under the same ownership, name and entity then all shareholdings should still remain as pre-delisting. Please deel free to correct me.I also agree that with cheaper oil and higher POG VGM should be able to get back on track.Has anyone tried to contact the company?

Re: Op Update I was also pleased to see this first positive news for a while and hope that it may either lead to a relisting or a better deal being offered in the future.I first bought in 2008 and gradually accumulated, hoping that a power plant deal with Tropicwood would come off (never did believe there was any chance with Fiji Sugar). Power problems with diesel generators in their dusty environment is still their greatest cost.Sold half (30,000) in the matched bargain offer last February, and kept the other half hoping that one day????

onedb1 22 Sep 2016

Op Update Haven't seen much in terms of commentary on these [link] that op update is good and cash costs have really fallen sharply . Always good to see and a needed precursor to an eventual relisting. One day

Re: Possible Relisting I recall that shareholders were offered a deal sometime ago or their shares would in any event be compulsorily purchased regardless. I gor something like £70 for my holding despite giving no indication of intention to sell. Fortunately I had sold half my holding previously for a reasonable amount. If the company is relisted you will have to buy your shares all over again and no sensible investor would do that - IMHO!If you are both brave and clever you can make money out of dodgy stocks on the AIM market but (again IMHO) I would have AIM closed down tomorrow based on it's track record.

Possible Relisting Northstar7As I see it, Zhongrun, as the majority 75% or so shareholder calls the shots, and has, so far not provided or sought additional funds for development, given the poor gold price and substantial oil priceAll this has changed. Oil prices have dropped and gold prices have risen. I suspect that last quarter returns will show a near breakeven (or small profit) situation and herald the beginning of a revival in VGM.Zhongrun will obviously seek to maximize its position by doing whatever suits it best, which will not necessarily be to the advantage of the rest of the shareholders. One of its options is to seek additional funding to continue the mine’s developmentI think an important question is whether or not SCD Energy is capable / willing to be involved in such financing, SCD owns some 8.7% of the issued share capital, and in May 2014, gave an ” irrevocable undertaking that it will not take advantage of the opportunity”( of selling its shares to Zhongrun)If something along these lines is being contemplated, we might look forward to less darker days than we have endured so far.Perhaps others, better informed and more knowledgeable than I might wish to share their thoughts
