RNS out Come on everyone - looking good

MALBRAD 17 Jan 2017

Re: Why is this forum so quiet? My apologies for accidentally posting this note prematurely.Considering the number of iii customers who are likely to hold shares in Mariana Resources I am surprised at the absence of recent postings on this BB; particularly when compared with the flood of outstanding, good, average and rubbish postings on the comparable LSE chat page.In the hopes of provoking a constructive discussion here I have outlined my thoughts below.1. A lot of shareholders are frustrated by the delay in publishing the PEA, in part because of the opportunities they have missed to make profits elsewhere in the meantime e.g. the 25% profit that could have been made in the last couple of weeks by buying AMX.2. The PEA that was promised in September has still not appeared. Most of the posters that I have read elsewhere do not believe that the delay is due to technical problems or to managerial incompetence. For what it is worth I share this view.3. The favourite explanation of the delay in publishing the PEA appears to be a belief/wishful expectation that Mariana and/or Lydia are involved in negotiations to sell Hot Madden and that news of a sale could come at any moment, leading to a big rise in the share price. Whilst I would be delighted by such an outcome it is not clear to me why Mariana/Lydia should want to sell a World Class discovery that is only partly explored. Mariana is funded for another twelve months expenditure on exploration and there is an extensive programme of exploration to be undertaken this year in terms of both infilling drilling and exploration to the south of the proven resource.4. Many shareholders appear to believe that the current share price is artificially low. One explanation put forward is the exercising of warrants by investors in the last fundraising exercise. Whilst I accept that warrants at a discount to the current share price imply dilution, their exercise does provide Mariana with capital to fund drilling. Furthermore, the exercise of warrants will only lower the share price if the shares are then sold. I have not seen any solid evidence of selling by major shareholders so remain unconvinced by this explanation. A more plausible explanation is a reluctance to invest in Turkish assets not withstanding claims that Lydia has close links with the current leadership of Turkey. Shareholders icompanies with assets in Syria and Iraq will be all too aware that country risk can be very real in the wrong circumstances.5. The management of Mariana Resources does face a significant credibility issue if the PEA or an asset sale does not happen soon and will clearly have to offer a more plausible explanation than they have so far done. An admission that the delay is due to bullying by Lydia would for example clearly damage the share price. What do others think?

Re: Drill results out FTP - wouldn't surprise me if it IS put back further as I suspect there are 'activities' in the background that will provve to be more interesting!Starnge how TSX seems to like the RNS more than we do - up 6% so far comp[ared to our down 4%....All the best to you and yours and here's hoping for a "staggering" New Year!

Re: Drill results out Good luck if you do FranconiaI am fully exposed as it. I'm reasonably sanguine about the future but hope early in the New Year does not get pushed back to early Spring! All the best for Christmas and the New YearFTP

Re: Drill results out I am kind of pleased that PEA is going to be next year now. I still think there is more to the delay than aligning with the PFS or whatever the excuse is. To go from being expected September, through October, November, December and now "New Year" is stretching credibility imo. Some negotiations in the background I suspect.I am seriously toying with idea of going "all in" here either at the end of this week or possibly next as I suspect we will drop further with warrant sellers tidying their books before year end.2017 looks likely to be a great year.

Drill results out This morning and continue to be exceptional. However, Pea early in New Year which will play on price.Poor conditioning of expectations by GP but we are playing in the devils playground that is AIM

Re: FRUSTRATION roco200 let us hope that the explanations for the delay with the PEA are positive and get resolved quickly. Taking the company at its word re PEA by end November, I sold my shares in Hurricane Energy and topped up on MAR; so the broken promise has cost me about £3,000 so far. On a more positive note we are also promised some more drilling results before the end of the year.

Re: FRUSTRATION Are we still expecting the PEA before the year end or will they wait till the festive season is over?I know the excuses given, but the delay makes me think there might be other issues at play, possibly positive, influencing the delay. We shall see. I wouldn't want to be out over the Xmas period, that is for sure.

Re: FRUSTRATION I managed to get a bit of an update by putting TipTv/mariana resources into the internet. In an interview on 28 November MARL's CEO admits that the PEA is late because of further work needed to bring it into line with another report due next year. implication the PEA was promised before the end of the year. The interview is worth listening to in terms of what is said about capital costs to develop the mine if it is not sold beforehand. That said, I prefer announcements via an RNS rather than via interviews that some shareholders may miss.

Unhelpful post here Sambrancan you copy & paste the information you mention as the link you provide doesn't allow anyone to read it unless they sign up to yet another website they dont want to be annoyed with ( yet another spammer). It is not reasonble to have to sign up to millions of different websites just to read one item someone else wants you to read, is it.We all know it adds to the disguting amount of rubbish spam we are all drowing in.

FRUSTRATION I currently hold shares in Mariana, Aminex and Hurricane Energy and until recently had shares in Amerisur and Sound Energy. In the last few months all of them have published one or more RNS promising the achievement of milestone events within stated timescales. So far only Hurricane Energy and up to a point Sound have delivered on these promises. In the remaining cases the achievement of milestones has been delayed often by several months. How are investors expected to make rational decisions when they are so frequently misled about the timescale of newsflow? In the case of Mariana we were promised the PEA by the end of November and it has yet to appear. There may be a good reason for the delay such as an unexpected disagreement with Lidya or sale negotiations. However, a company with any respect for its shareholders would simply have published an RNS telling shareholders about the delay as soon as possible rather than staying silent whilst a published target date is passed. Mariana needs to make a better job of managing shareholders expectations.
