Re: Rio Tinto Selling Mines Hi scholomo,I think that APF fell because the market as a whole is having a bad day because of worries about a trade war. The Whitehaven news really ought to be seen as strength in Whitehaven and confidence in the outlook for coal. The other news was the re-arrangements for the dividends. In reality the pay days are very similar - and the dividend payouts are unchanged. On the plus side vanadium still seems to be rising - now shown as $14.85 in Europe:-[link] to mention gold is has been strong of late:-[link] B

Rio Tinto Selling Mines News out today - Whitehaven Coal (owners of Narrabri mine) have bought a coal mine off Rio Tinto:-[link] in the first statement it says:-"A separate process remains underway to sell Rio Tinto’s interest in the Kestrel underground mine, the company’s remaining Australian coal asset. Rio Tinto will update the market on this process as appropriate."One way of looking at this is that Whitehaven is making so much money from its existing coal mines that (with confidence in the future price of coal) it can afford to make such a large outlay. The B

V2O5 Largo Web Site and Strong Prices I believe that Largo's web site has recently been revamped with much to read. eg[link] the mean time the price of V2O5 continues to rise where ever one looks:-[link] VANADIUM WRAP: European, US prices surge amid significant supply concerns, outpacing Chinese upward movesThe Chinese vanadium market edged upward despite limited trading activity, while the European and US ferro-vanadium markets surged on significant supply concerns.Chinese vanadium suppliers raise offers despite limited activity European market surges on increasingly tight supply US ferro-vanadium market strengthens again, supply squeeze supports Chinese ferro-vanadium export prices continued to trend higher over the past week, supported by higher prices for the material in Europe and the tight supply of vanadium pentoxide (V2O5). Metal Bulletin assessed fob China ferro-vanadium prices at $62-64 per kg on Thursday March 8, up from $61-62 per kg one week ago. Meanwhile, the price quotation for fob China V2O5 surged to $14-14.60 per Ib on March 8, up by 4% from the previous week’s assessment of $13.50-14 per lb. “I quoted $63.50 on [March 7], but stopped quoting from [March 8],” a ferro-vanadium exporter and trader told Metal Bulletin. “Major domestic V2O5 producers reported no cargoes to sell in spot market, and ferro-vanadium producers raised prices and are selling in small amounts. Cobalt DR Congo produces 60% of supply and major increase in taxes is being implemented:-[link] am not sure what this means in practice, but I presume that the big mining companies will need a high price for cobalt to make it worth their while to continue to mine. Furthermore it makes the DR Congo a less reliably country to source cobalt."The impoverished yet mineral-rich nation provides more than 60% of the world's cobalt. Prices for it more than doubled last year thanks to an increased demand for electric cars, which require cobalt for batteries."In the mean time APF has a interest in cobalt with their Brazilian nickel project:-[link] overall I see that APF might incidentally benefit from the upheavals in the DR Congo. Note that the price of cobalt is reported as doubling over the last year. The B

Re: Holdings RNS for BKY Ah yes, could be - but only issued for apf. Suppose it's possible only they would be required to notify. Seems an odd time to sell otherwise unless money needed for something else.

Re: Holdings RNS for BKY Possibly just a %age change due to the large number of shares recently admitted to the register?

Re: Share price & volume What they should actually do is improve it! It's a bit poor in this day and age to not be able to edit message, or display an image. The lse forum is a little better but not much. Someone implement a decent London listed share forum!

Tony Proudfoot 06 Mar 2018

Re: Share price & volume Is this the Forum? If so, it works: why would they dump it? It's the only thing that differentiates them from others!

Re: Share price & volume I've been despairing of many aspects of iii's service for a long time. Now it looks like they may dump the forum too.
