I think it is because they have over half a billion shares compared to bank of Ireland's thirty six million, so their share price would make them one of the best preforming banks in the world. Having said that, the Government have over 99 percent of the shares and it is expected that these shares will be sold somehow and the number of shares reduced without affecting the share price. That is the hope anyway.
