Re: Going Bust Re theprior:You can still set off your loss against CG if a company goes into administration and as a consequence its shares have been suspended but you have to wait to claim until the administrator has liquidated the company and advised that there will be no return of capital to shareholders. The "problem" is that it may take about a year to liquidate the assets of the company and for the administrator to formally advise that the share are of no value so if you feel this company is going to go bust you could claim you CG loss in the current financial year if you sold your shares in the market now whilst it remained quoted, otherwise you might have to wait until next financial year. However it should be pointed out that the CG loss is only of value if you have gains above the exempt level to offset against.CG losses can usually be carried forward to future years if you disclose the event at the end of the specific financial year.Obviously none of the above applies to shares held in ISAs etc.

Flybrid Remember talking about the loan note terms at the meeting with Torotrak in London .Sad Sad is all you can say , It was pointed out at the meeting that the Flybrid owners were in too strong a position should Torotrak fail to secure orders.

Re: Going Bust I read recently (don’t recall where) that if you sell at a loss you can offset the loss against capital gains BUT, if the company ceases trading the loss against valueless shares cannot be offset against CG.Can’t verify but it may be your last chance to get the CG offset.Worth checking out with the tax experts here ?TP

Re: Going Bust Ah, well, I've had a small holding for years, mainly because I liked the technology, and it kept me interested in the industry.Although this outcome was pretty obvious, I console myself that at least I helped keep some engineers in a job for a while. Unfortunately, a side effect was that I also helped keep some, er, less useful members of the company in work as well.

Going Bust I've taken what's left of my small investment in TRK. They can't sell the IP and now are thinking of appointing administrators. I thought they'd get something for the IP which is why I bought in at 1p.What a shame to see this company finally die after all these years. I remember being a shareholder in my 20's, now i'm in my 40's.

RNS Financial update RNS Number : 6997XTorotrak PLC28 November 2017 THE INFORMATION CONTAINED WITHIN THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS DEEMED BY THE COMPANY TO CONSTITUTE INSIDE INFORMATION AS STIPULATED UNDER THE EU MARKET ABUSE REGULATION (596/2014). UPON THE PUBLICATION OF THE ANNOUNCEMENT VIA A REGULATORY INFORMATION SERVICE, THIS INFORMATION IS CONSIDERED TO BE IN THE PUBLIC DOMAIN. Torotrak plc("Torotrak" or the "Company"Update re: financial update Torotrak plc, a developer and supplier of emissions reduction and fuel efficiency technology for vehicles, provides an update on its financial position. As previously announced and as set out in the Company's report and accounts, the Company's ability to trade on a going concern basis was dependent on the Company's ability to successfully realise value from its assets or seek alternative sources of funding. The Company has been actively seeking to restructure the Group and find potential acquirers of its IVT / CVT technology, IP and assets. This has included the potential sale of Flybrid Automotive Limited. Whilst progress has been made in certain areas, unfortunately to date no final transactions have been concluded. The Company is in ongoing discussions with a party in relation to the potential refinancing of the Group. However, on 27 November 2017, the Company received notice from Mr Jonathan Hilton and Mr Douglas Cross demanding immediate repayment of £1,746,171.73 pursuant to their understanding of the terms of the loan note agreement. The legitimacy of this notice is disputed by the Company. However, the uncertainty created by this loan note redemption notice has led to uncertainty surrounding the refinancing discussions. In the absence of a successful resolution of the refinancing position and/or the dispute with Mr Hilton and Mr Cross, the Company will have to consider appointing administrators. In light of the above, it is highly unlikely that the Board will be in a position to publish its half year results for the six months ended 30 September 2017 by 30 November 2017. As at 30 September 2017, the cash balance of the Company was approximately £3.7 million (gross of the loan notes). The Company will make further announcements in due course.Torotrak plcAdam Robson, Chief Executive / Rex Vevers, Finance Director

Trucks I drove my last truck a few days ago, an oversize double decked trailer 16' 2" tall, actually a common size now. A short day barely 200 miles and I deliberately chose a circular route, using mostly 'A' roads for the outward journey and dual carriageways and motorway for the return. The outward route just 10kms shorter than the return. Gross weight 43 tonnes out and 38 tonnes back. I carefully monitored the fuel consumption of the 3 year old unit, just 8.5 mpg out and 8.7mpg on the return. This is real world usage and I know I'm light footed on the throttle, but despite all the flannel that goes on, that fuel consumption is the same as 25 years or more ago. I know the newest trucks use computers to override the worst habits of lead footed drivers, they are like driving dead things, actually the lack of 'feel' in the things is quite unsettling. If you are serious about saving fuel all you have to do is reward the driver with 50% of the cost of fuel saved above a base figure. Suddenly every driver becomes a regular 'twinkle toes'!I read that Tesla are promoting an electric truck using the motor from their cars, each truck using several motors to drive several axles. That's an awful lot of copper going to be used, I do wonder if an ivt would enable the reduction in size of an electric motor and thus save on copper. Not sure if this is completely dead or just dormant, I suspect that everyone has given up hope that it will ever get benefit from the patents?

Re: CVT's forecasting growth 2017/22. The report was produced by Jignesh Thakkar of Market Study Report, based in Dover, Delaware. One of the nicknames for Delaware is, appropriately, The Small Wonder. It would be ironic if the CVT market took off just as Torotrak finally gives up.

emissions 30% cut demand Europe demands 30% cut in emissions by 2030. And yet even this won't give IVT a look in![link]

Re: Team Industries & Fallbrook Unfortunately, it does not remind me of how TRK addressed the lawnmower market. Fallbrook claim that their technology is globally available in over 100 bicycle brands. How many lawnmoower brands adopted TRK technology?Fallbrook may be American but they have something like 200 bicycle dealers across Germany and the Low Countries. How many dealers were offering lawn mowers with TRK technology?[link]

Trailers Not sure how old this is, or whether it caught on? I would think the capacitors would need to be fully discharged before any loading/unloading should take place.[link]
