Re: Popssible bid? don't understand the logic in charging f'all to gain market share. Anyone that will consider makin a bid for this munter will be looking to profit from 'the talktalk fone customer'.when my contract finishes, i'll be looking for the next best deal - my broadband exp w/talktalk is not reliable. tend to keep foning the tech hotline every now and again, they do a diagnostic check (my wiring is sound) and then for some miraculous reason my web experience improves. fink its relationship building treat them mean keep them keen...

Re: Popssible bid? I've always thought Vodafone might consider making a play. I've just bought in today at 320 on the basis that this company will make a nice fit for someone with bigger ambitions.

Popssible bid? Any chance of a bid for the company ?Might be difficult competition wise.

Macquarie view "Macquarie upgraded Sky to 'outperform' from 'neutral', raised its price target to 1,400p from 900p and named the stock its top pick in the UK.The bank said that in general across Europe it favours premium operators that are investing in networks and that are indirect beneficiaries of consolidation, and challenger operators with a distinct market segment. It said that in the UK, BT is at risk from under-investing and is also exposed directly to M&A risks. "As such, we view Sky as the premium UK operator, with pricing power in content and indirect benefits from consolidation. It can also economically discount telecoms to the detriment of BT and others."Macquarie cut its stance on BT to 'underperform' from 'neutral' with an unchanged price target of 375p and on TalkTalk to 'neutral' from 'outperform', raising the price target to 365p from 350p.The bank said it was positively biased towards TalkTalk but struggling with current valuations. As for BT, it said its outlook on the stock is negative as it is on the back foot currently facing M&A execution risks, convergence headwinds, competition in the Mobile Virtual Network Operator market, pressure on its fibre business and significant regulatory hurdles."From ADVFN.

Re: Ot: Talk talk customer compliance office... apols if posted already[link] Heidi Ogden has been a loyal customer of TalkTalk for more than eight years. But when her home entertainment and broadband package went down unexpectedly, her loyalty was rewarded with three months of frustration and an increasingly bitter fight for compensation. __________ __________ _[link] • 20 days agoWell done Jess.1•Reply•Share ›AvatarCrocosmia • 20 days agoTalktalk once barred my telephone and internet because of an unpaid £10 bill despite being over £100 in credit, clearly visible on the current statement of account.Nightmare company avoid at all costs.2•Reply•Share › Avatar henry john Crocosmia • 14 days ago the bank would bar your overdraft if you went over it - it's the exact same thing. pay your bills on time! • Reply • Share › Avatar Crocosmia henry john • 14 days ago You have unfortunately completely missed the point. I was over £100 in credit with the Talktalk account and the £10 bill was their error, ergo how could I owe £10 whilst being over £100 in credit with them and certainly no need for a disconnection. 1 • Reply • Share ›Avatarphilipsd • 20 days agoEngineer?! Why is it that people who service washing machines, TVs, telephone and internet services, etc are described as engineers - when they are, at best, no more than glorified technicians? In the UK an 'Engineer' has often obtained an engineering degree from university, subsequently undertaken a formal, supervised training programme, and a professional review - to achieve the title Chartered Engineer. The description 'engineer' is grossly overused in the UK.3•Reply•Share › Avatar expat1 philipsd • 17 days ago You beat me to it. I telephoned a few times and each time they sent an engineer but it still did not work. In the end it was suggested by our gas engineer to always contact companies on Twitter...apparently companies hate bad press on there. Their action was immediate and this time it was solved properly. Also they gave a discount for the lack of service. i have used this for another problem via twitter and it makes such a difference! So dont bother calling or emailing...tweeting your complaint is the way forward!2•Reply•Share ›Avatardontstart • 20 days agoI have had dreadful problems with talk talk I switched to them and it took 6 visits from engineers 3 talk talk ones and 3 BT ones to get my phone up and running ,so no broad band for 6 weeks ,I did in the end e mail the CEO and it was fixed but to compensate me for the lack of broadband all the offered me was 2 boosts which amounted to £10The call centre based in India is dreadful the worst customer service I have ever experienced I would suggest that if your thinking of using Talktalk DONT2•Reply•Share › Avatar dontstart dontstart • 20 days ago Ps Have now switched to ZEN very good service and works well • Reply • Share ›Avatarmrpumpkinhead • 20 days agoTalkTalk is an appalling company. Ot: Talk talk customer compliance officer Advised me, should my case be the truth to contact ofcom the regulator and investigate mis selling. The compliance officer who in actual fact is an indirect recipient of my.monthly payments; should therefore represent my interests, said to the effect that 'I' was against talk talk, and that in theory 'talk talk',is against me. In my naive view, the talk talk compliance officer is instigating a bad feeling and mid trust with one of their own customers. I wonder why a talk talk customer compliance officer is attempting to orchestrate a scene for further engagement? What objective is talk talk customer compliance officer aiming to fulfil, by deliberately creating bad relations with their customer? Is this the reward for five years customer loyalty? Is talk talk getting ahead of itself?seriously grim. tbc...

I wonder if Talktalk missells their service.. And repeatedly send out agreements and invoices to their customers without their consent....the customer has the choice to agree or not agree to the service they were missold.I am a Talktalk customer.

Extremely competitive marketplace with some huge players who have special TV offerings. Although there is recent revenue and customer base growth, it is relatively modest and the competition is depressing profits. I like the progressive dividend, but surely this is overvalued on EPS?Happy to be informed and/or corrected but it just seems over-inflated to me.

Morgan Stanley "TalkTalk offers potential for growthConsensus over TalkTalk (TALK)’s full-year 2015 earnings has been trimmed but the company is still a growth story, according to Morgan Stanley.Analyst Terence Tsui retained his ‘overweight’ recommendation and target price of 330p after the company reported third quarter revenues of £449 million versus consensus of £453 million. The shares fell 1% to 315p yesterday.Tsui said consensus over 2015 earnings was down by around 6% but that the stock was still attractive.‘We see TalkTalk as offering a solid organic growth story with accelerating revenue growth and potential for expanding [earnings] margins,’ he said. ‘On revenues we see expansion from customer growth, modest average revenue per user uplift and upselling new services, such as fibre and TV.’ "

Poor service Hello allThis BB is surprisingly quiet in view of all the take-over activity in the telecoms sector. As well as being a shareholder, I am also a TT customer. I have had increasing problems with the service from slow broadband to noisy phone line. TT is generally slow to resolve these problems. Currently I have a problem with my Youview box and have had to submit myself to helpline support from Manila and the experience has been poor. I was put through a support routine that I knew was pointless since my box is obviously faulty and software resets had already failed to fix it. I was put through the routine on two successive days and, problem still not fixed, they wanted to put me through it again for a third successive day until I refused and said I would cancel the contract. I have now got an engineer appointment with the threat of a £50 if it is my fault. I have found out that lots of people on the TT forum have been complaining about the same thing recently. But the helpline people appeared to unaware????The point of this message from an investor point of view is that I now have serious doubts about TT's capacity to handle the current extent of its business.I would welcome a takeover of the company from another such as Vodafone in the hope of better service standards.CheersF
