Nice Announcement Sadly not a new order, or completion of a large project phase, but, still quite reassuring: "SRT Marine Systems PLC is pleased to announce that it has successfully worked with local partners to deploy the SRT VMS System to monitor and manage a national fleet of fishing boats operating up to 250km from shore across an area of over 600,000 sq km much of which is open-ocean and incorporates sensitive marine environments. The SRT VMS System is being used by authorities to continuously track and monitor all fishing boats to enhance the management, efficiency and safety of fishermen and protect against illegal, unregulated and unlicensed fishing (IUU). The SRT VMS system was delivered as a turn-key system solution and provides a range of unique performance and functionality; real time, zero latency vessel tracking without range limitation or coverage gaps, enhanced vessel tracking visualisation, vessel ELOG with catch reporting and license management, powerful vessel data and track analytics, reporting and filters. A customer representative said: “SRT has extensive practical experience in planning and deploying maritime monitoring systems around the world and their VMS System has proven performance and the specialist fisheries functionality we and our Coast Guard colleagues needed. The choice of partner and system was therefore clear for us.” Simon Tucker, SRT CEO said: “We are delighted to have worked with yet another authority to implement a fisheries monitoring system that will grow and evolve with them in the future. The proven performance and reliability of the SRT VMS System coupled with our extensive real world deployment experience enables SRT to deliver national scale systems smoothly. Our customer now has a robust fisheries monitoring system that will benefit all marine stakeholders.”"

Re: Where is the order? Hardboy - I followed your suggestion and emailed ST with my concerns. His (prompt) response was that the contract was a national security project and that there was nothing they could say publicly at this time. Unfortunately that doesn't really help; they could be anywhere from being about to announce the successful completion of the first phase and progression to the second phase, or likely to be removed from the contract in the near term. We can only wait and see relying - as ST commented - on the delivered results to drive the share price. Though I suspect speculation will be more important in the immediate future in the absence of any hard news about this.

Re: Where is the order? Thanks Pi,The share price is all to do with future earnings, which the market knows will be uneven. So 6 months' figures showing a drop does not change things. It's only news about specific orders, or potential orders, or problems which should move the share price significantly.

Re: Where is the order? I find it unusual that the sp hasn't dropped with lower revenue, £2.7m from £3.5mI used to hold these but sold a while back.Good luck,Pi

Re: Where is the order? To be fair to Mr T (does he have a middle name beginning with R?) he has never shirked facing difficult questions in the past. He has also been very good at answering e mails from investors, so if you feel there are omissions it is worth asking him. They also monitor discussion boards, so know what is being said.

Re: Where is the order? It is a good point that they would have to comment if it had actually been lost; however the absence of any mention makes me wonder whether it is not progressing as hoped and there is a danger that it will indeed be cancelled. comparison to the bullishness of the last results - transformational, £200m opportunities etc - this seems a very downbeat statement and the absence of a webcast may imply Simon Tucker does not want to face difficult questions about progress.

Re: Where is the order? The €90m order was over 3 years, and the income from it was never going to be evenly spread. I agree that it is of concern that it is such a large part of their known business that we should have expected some mention of it; but because there is no mention of it, it will not have been lost or significantly delayed. otherwise, because that is price sensitive information they would have had to tell us. Possibly more concerning is that there doesn't seem to be the usual Simon Tucker webcast to accompany these results.

Where is the order? In June at the time of the full year results the 'contracted future order book' of £70 million dominated thinking and the report. Forward to now and there is no mention of any such order in today's statement, just general platitudes about significant progress and orders taking time to come to fruition. Has this contract been lost? Or is it's delivery later than anticipated? The original announcement talked about three phases with each needing to be completed before moving to the next. Why is there no mention at all? I find this very concerning.

Timing When I attended the AGM, there was a very strong air of confidence about the future. The message was big orders are going to come; but we can not say with any certainty when. They gave us a present of jam, indicating it is no longer jam tomorrow. (But presumably jam very soon.) That is now 4 months ago, and I admit the impression I got was they expected something big earlier than this. Meanwhile my jar of jam remains unopened awaiting Simon's instruction.

Re: Someone KNEW something! So, now we know - somebody DID know something, and it's all right saying people talk but as the RNS says "This announcement includes inside information as defined in Article 7 of the Market Abuse Regulation No. 596/2014"'nother word with ST called for about people in his company "talking" - perhaps to the wrong peeps!

Re: Someone knows something DB: "Have remained confidently invested here since 2013"Young Whipper snapper! I've got 2 years on you.Good news this morning, but just a small start.

Re: Someone knows something Reckon ST & the team knew something...[link] just to state the bl**ding obvious...people talk!!4 years from inception to completion, ST has oft repeated how long the whole process can take when horse-trading with governments . Now he has delivered yet again.Have remained confidently invested here since 2013, scratching my head at the frequent unquantified, unjustified declines, never doubting that 'jam tomorrow' would become 'cream tea' today & intend to stick with it very long-term.Bravo to ST et al.

Re: Someone knows something I think there is knowledge which will stop that happening. Remember their best ever year was a turnover of around £10m; and a few months ago they announced a huge contract worth €90m over 3 years - huge in context; but the money would not come in evenly. So they got nothing this half, maybe there will be a significant chunk in H2. That contract alone should underpin a sp of around 40p; and they are confident of more big orders coming, but they don't know when.

Re: Someone knows something Judging by the strength of the share price after those dismal results - I think someone does knows something. I was expecting this to head to 30p yesterday.

Hardboy 07 Oct 2016

Re: Someone knows something Sadly that's the nature of the share - quite a few traders trying to make a quick return, and no large institutional investors to dampen the effects. I try to ignore all movements unless they are in response to real events. Of course the continuing weakening pound should be good for business.
