Buying Decent buy at the close. Should open higher on Monday.

BOWOOD 12 May 2017

Results These are due shortly and we need to do the RTO by early July to avoid being suspended. They were in discussions Aug Sept last year so we may see any acquisition announced at the same time.

M/C Looking to buy but a mc of £3.6m looks a bit high when the only asset is £500k in cash. Even if there is a deal to be done seven times asset value seems a high premium to me. Any justification?

BOWOOD 27 Jan 2017

Re: Expecting significant news soon The MC seems to be well ahead of asset value - why so over valued? Not in at the moment but having a look.

Expecting significant news soon I would note that the new CEO says that he looks forward to helping the company progress in its "imminent next phase". I'm not sure how soon "imminent" is but I would suggest that the company must be expecting to make a significant announcement about its existing resources or an acquisition no later than the new year, so I look forward to that as a catalyst for greater interest in the company.

Reason for share price movement The board announced today that it knows of no reason for the share price increase. I would suggest that it is simply a matter of more people cottoning-on to the fact that Mr. Clarke, with his excellent track record and conservative approach, is leading (from a strategic viewpoint) this gold company and the fact that the company has announced that it may be involved in a reverse takeover in the future. All this has of course been helped by the reviving gold price. I guess investors are investing on the basis of the quality of management, existing resources, potential for corporate activity and relatively small market cap. At least, that's why I invested (and also invested in Mr. Clarke's other resources ventures).

Strong trading today Pleased to see the share price up over 10% at the time of writing and I notice that there was about £5000 of trades today at over 40p. If the company or its advisers read this please could I ask you to update the "Board and Management" section of the corporate web site as it still shows David Pearl as chairman and several other people who I thought had resigned some time ago. Out of date info creates a bad impression for everyone including potential partners. Thanks.

Re: Ebola free! It is clear that the price of Gold reflects the value of the US Dollar. In the last 4 years as the US dollar index has risen the price of Gold as declined. When the US dollar falls the price of gold rises.Makes common sense really,And if you look at our own chart you will see the same thing. Now lots of other factors also effect the share price of different companies; So, on top of the Ebola crisis now said to be over in Guinea, if this year the value of the US dollar also starts starts to fall, then 2016 should be a good year for the share price of SMA. IMHO

new chairman comments Giles Clarke, Chairman designate said: “I am pleased to be joining the Board alongside Rupert Fraser. We have invested in the business to provide it with additional funding. We plan to conduct a strategic review of the Company’s assets and activities with a view to enhancing shareholder value and will outline our vision and strategy for the business in the weeks ahead. Our plans for the business may involve the pursuit of an acquisition which would trigger a reverse takeover under the AIM Rules. I would like to thank David Pearl my predecessor as Chairman for all he has done for the business and wish him and Jan Nelson well for the future.”
