My guess Dave It is just a guess, (based on facts) but something is brewing over here, and it could be linked to this: on the 30th of June (just a few days ago) main shareholder HBM Healthcare Investments (almost 30% shareholder) issued two bond tranches with a minimum issue amount of CHF 50 million each. That is a lot of money. On the 2nd of July, HBM issued a new media release telling us the capital markets received both bond tranches with enthusiasm, which means both tranches went over the counter in no time. Payment date of both tranches is expected to be on 10th July. The proceeds will be used, and now it becomes interesting… to finance potential investment opportunities, to ensure flexibility with regards to the timing for the disposal of certain portfolio assets, and for general funding purposes. On Friday more than 6 million SKP shares were sold. There are just a few shareholders who are holding so many shares. My guess is, one of those few institutional investors sold SKP at a discount (at 269 and 270p.), which another institutional investor was glad to get at this price, and the money will be reinvested in the HBM bond tranches. Woodford I should have mentioned that Woodford is a known lover of pharma stocks & perhaps he has seen the light & realised that it is about time he started building a position here.

Re: Big Sells Market makers will not be holding all those shares so the big question is-who bought the shares sold ?

dkok 03 Jul 2015

Big Sells Today has seen a series of very big sells which must surely be institutional. Cannot understand why the price has responded positively though! Perhaps these have been in process for quite a while and were responsible for the gradual shareprice decline over the last month or so?Will be interesting to see how price moves in the coming week.GLTAdkok

Re: Trading update today Crazy as it sounds, the £9mill saving on royalty payments pa plus our other producing & pipeline products should make us look like a bargain to GSK but pretty good value to anyone else interested too.I share your disappointment regarding our SP reaction but I should not complain having started buying back in at 40p +.

Re: Trading update today Don't necessarily disagree with you Dave. I have long been of the opinion that SKP makes a sensible T/O target for GSK, not least in terms of saving £9M/year in royalty payments, plus gaining Fluti and its world wide revenue, there may also be economies of production for GSK, and that's not even taking into account the other strings to SKP's bow!! Time will tell. A bit disappointed that today's news has not been received more positively.GLTAdkok

Re: Trading update today Surely it is GSK who should consider taking Fluti forward in the US.They already have a strong working relationship with SKP,have the funds to amend Fluti to meet FDA specifications & have another potentially substantial market.Fluti may well compete with other GSK products but I am sure that they would not be there only competing products & they would take, together, a larger share of the US market-apart from the potential for other uses for Fluti.Anyway, our SP says No !

Re: Trading update today I would hazard a guess that it is a balance between whether it is more economic to receive the royalty payments from GSK (up to £9M per year) for the breo elipta and other variants which is mainly US, than the potential profit margin off Fluti when you consider the manufacture & supply costs etc., and the marketing costs of trying to compete with the GSK products which they are getting royalties on. Any success of Fluti would probably have a negative impact on GSK royalties, They would have to be sure that one would outweigh the other.GLTAdkok

Re: Trading update today Any reason why SKP seem to have given up Fluti in USA, possibly biggest market for the product!

dave297 25 Jun 2015

Trading update today Low key ,but positive, no hype where others would & unexpected ( by me ) the prospect of the next milestone from Pacira,(despite their problems). The next transformational move would be to partner a major to try Fluti again in the US but this now seems unlikely.I would like to see the Board buy more shares as their holdings are fairly low.

Re: Odd UT Trade so what is going on here for last few weeks we open with a small trade ie 34 but this week nothing but price drops most days now off a pound from highs answers on a post card.cheers

Re: Odd UT Trade Yep, could be those naughty boys and girls or their algorithms placing an apparent order then withdrawing it, causing the market to react, but then they benefit from the movement.

Re: Big Trades same again today. I bought 5,000 shares and volume was at 25,000, 10 minutes after my trade volume was at 1.71mln and 200k more traded since then.

Re: Big Trades I agree ,Dkok, but,as ever, very big sales must be matched by very big purchases & the MM s would not be holding on to that many shares.Glad to have a substantial (for me ) holding here as the upside potential far outweighs the downside,AIMHO,of course.

Re: Big Trades Hi DaveThere seems to be a large number of very big, and I mean very big trades after hours across the exchange over the last two or three days. Some shares have had millions of shares traded on the UT at the end of the day. It seems to me that something is going on, when 50 to 100 of the day's share trading is done on the UT or after hours. Some are definitely buys, but some are sells. Just seems strange as UT,s are usually only for a small number of shares, unless the big boys are doing after hours sell downs on the old sell in May and go away scenario. Will see what tomorrow brings.dkok
