Farewell SKP & todays RNS Having enjoyed a turbulent time here in the very early days, causing me a substantial loss (& a breakeven on my original holdings of about £55 p share), my purchases in recent years have resulted in me exiting with a very decent profit-on paper at least, as I have opted to take 100% of my entitlement in Vec shares, which I am hoping the market will consider to be substantially undervalued when it considers how cheaply it has bought SKP for.Todays RNS gives another clue as to why Vec have a bargain as if the collaboration results in a generic drug the potential revenue could be substantial.

VEC short position increasing [link]

Re: VEC Results I guess the markets are busy with oil and minerals as there been no market reaction to the results judging by the Vec sp today.

Re: VEC Results VEC results are out and are looking very positive indeed. Am fully comfortable with the merger deal as both VEC and SKP are firing on both cylinders and the technology of the two combined is complimentary rather than competitive. There will be some savings that can be made as a result of the merger, and the new merged company will be both larger and stronger. What comes across from the VEC results is that even with a number of products in development, VEC have still added almost 10% to cash reserves in the year, the combined group should have over £140M in the bank, both companies being profitable.Interesting times ahead.GLTAdkok

VEC Results Think the VEC results are out tomorrow which will be interesting, and if there is positive news which accompanies it then we could well see the SP rise further before the merger becomes finalised.GLTAdkok

Re: Merger Hi DaveThanks for that post. Do you have some breakdown of broker forecasts. Have been looking but have found ones for Vev and Skype but nothing for the merged company. If 264+ is true seems odd that Vec is staying so low, understanding that forecasts are forecasts but this seems very positive with lots of potential upside.Tha

Re: Merger I agree that the merger group is likely to be a takeover candidate but with view to broker forecasts now of a 264p+ SP I would hope that any takeover would be pitched at 350p+ & maybe more.I am in no rush as I believe that the new group has great growth potential as a larger specialist company & I would prefer us to be fulfilling our potential before a takeover to ensure max price.

Re: Merger Bally fantastic. I hold shares in both. If you put the cash pile, the revenue generation and pipeline of new products together this will be a fantastic outfit. I predict they will be a takeover target themselves within twelve months.

Merger Isn't it nice to have a Merger where the resulting shares are still UK listed! Any views on the prospects for the combined outfit?Starchaser2

Final Trading Update Very positive & encouraging & should demonstrate the fantastic value achieved by Vec .

Re: Today After the merger Skyvec should have spare £70m in the kitty to boost R&D.

dave297 06 May 2016

Re: Today If the next 2/3 years are as good for Vec as the last 2/3 years have been for Skp ,the 18 (or 21) year wait will have been worthwhile !

Re: Today Hi dave297,One important rule in investment is not to get attached to your holdings, but after 18 years of more pain than gain I too, will be sad to see the name 'skyepharma' disappear from my screen. It has been very long wait, for the paint to dry. However, I think merger is a smart move.Only thing bugs me is the name 'Vectura', I believe companies should have a name which is memorable and easily acceptable by the consumers.
