Re: Golden Cross Just looked @ HL chart to review this and this shows price @ 400p 29/07/2008.The 23p rings a bell though.Peel hunt, liberum, and N+1 singer have it as a buy going back from November 17.Chart indicates i first bought at the of bottom a dip, hindsight shows a dead cat bounce to 504p before big tumble to 66p 25/01/09 .Good rise to 223p by 11/05/09 but another big fall back to 30/06/2009 to..... 29p ( i did top at these levels ) Bubbled around the.. 35p level since with a few spikes . ( 74p 04/03/2014 )( 44p November 2016 )( 57p 26 May 2017) Now 48pAppears to have a small Div of 1.51% PA.

Carillion Can't see how the collapse of Carillion won't effect SDY either directly or indirectly.Morale and confidence in the construction sector for starters.

Re: H1 Results And of course we are heading for a slowdown

H1 Results All smoke and mirrors as usual - unadjusted PBT is £4.1m vs £4.2m prior year - another reorganisation and rearranging the deck chairs - more exceptionals reported because of poor business decisions previously.Par for the course - A static business!

target prices anyone... ... I must confess to not fully understanding the recent RNS...Bidding war for Lavendon .... so Speedy takes off... ?Should we assume the loser in the Lavendon competition will buy Speedy instead... ?I'm very happy with the gains I'm made with SDY but would hate to sell now and see 55p by Friday...Also, Ex Div Date is soon... 15th Dec I think, not that .33 p will make much difference to the xmas budget...M

Toscafund I can understand the frustrations of Toscafund but I'm not sure putting two underperforming businesses with wildly differing cultures together makes sense. They will spend a year working out what to do, another year making the massive changes ( significant network duplication) - there will be huge exceptional costs ( although to be fair we are used to that with both of them) and then we will probably experience a market downturn which will mean more cuts and reorganisation. How as a shareholder of both businesses are we expected to see improved value at the end of it!........ All seems a bit wishful thinking.... Does anybody have a view?

"It is still clearly too early to predict the full repercussions of the vote to leave the EU. The events of the past couple of days have been seismic enough with the resignation of the Prime Minister, the prospect of another Scottish independence referendum and the disintegration of the Shadow Cabinet. There is no timetable for Brexit and there is speculation that a compromise deal may be sought or even that the Scottish Parliament could veto the whole thing. None of this is likely to be resolved quickly and there is a threat ..." Singer note out this morning on brexit affect on Speedy Hire on research tree

Re: Panmure Gordon note - Research Tree Panmure Gordon have been reporting on Speedy's recovery for the last 7 years - it's all there to see and they repeatedly get it wrong so why should we believe this one?

blackrose 17 May 2016

Speedy losses New management team same rhetoric - things are on the up we are told! More exceptional costs declining revenues and a staggering £51.2m loss - tot up the losses over the last 7 years and you will be astonished - very disgruntled holder
