Another good RNS I had a bit of brain fade and accidentally topped up double what I intended the other day (not enough to move the market, I hasten to add). Now this looks like an act of genius . . . this lot may actually be going to deliver! And what a good system, my old company had a massive diesel generator belching fumes in the garages of all its buildings for the UPS -- how much better to have a little tank of hydrogen and some fuel cells hissing and bubbling or whatever they do.Seven year framework agreementProton Power Systems plc (AIM: PPS), a Clean Tech total power solution provider, uniquely the designer, developer and producer of fuel cells and fuel cell electric hybrid systems, is pleased to announce that it signed with a blue chip German customer a significant framework agreement for fuel cell emergency power units. The total value of the framework agreement is €15 million for a number of systems which are all expected to be delivered and installed over a seven year period. The agreement currently covers only one of Germany's regions, Bavaria, and follows the first binding order received in April from this customer for the delivery of systems worth €1.8 million during 2016. The power range of the units to be delivered to this customer varies from 6 to 8kVA and the units will be contained in outdoor cabinets which include hydrogen storage, fuel cells, UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) and auxiliary components. These units provide a complete solution based on hydrogen fuel cell technology for long backup time, supplying clean energy for critical loads. Faiz Francoise Nahab Ph.D., CEO of Proton, said: "This framework agreement is another milestone that will provide year on year revenue streams as commercialization of our core technology is now realized. Our continued investment in our manufacturing capability is now bearing fruits. This is the proof that the fuel cell technology is commercially attractive to customers resulting in projects which will provide years of revenues for Proton. This order demonstrates our expertise in providing complete solutions with a fuel cell as part of a UPS system with a very long backup time. The combination of fuel cell and UPS technology allows us to design complete solutions also for customers with high power rating requirements. We are confident of an increase in demand for hydrogen based applications in 2016 and beyond ". - Ends -

Stockdale's note from this morning... Proton Power Systems (PPS) has signed a seven year framework agreement worth €15m with a blue chip German customer for fuel cell emergency power units. These are expected to be delivered and installed over a seven year period. This follows the first binding order received in April 2016 from the customer worth €1.8m in 2016. As this agreement covers only one of Germany’s regions there is potential for it to grow substantially. We view this news positively and will reinstate formal research coverage in due course. It's up on Research Tree.

Re: Technically very strong The 20% spread is offputting. presumably the mms don't actually want anyone to deal.

Re: Technically very strong well i think we are looking out for a change in direction. IEH seems to be doing something similar - a long fall in sp followed by a recent turn around based on who knows what. Looks like PPS may be trying to turn but again this depends on any appetite for risk. I will probably avergae down at some point soon if only to be in a better position to be patient.

Re: Technically very strong I'm still holding and contemplating buying small, because I reckon the German railway contract should generate (geddit) a bit of oomph on the revenue side pending sales growth in other areas, and they don't appear to be going bust. (sounds like a checklist for how to lose money on tech bets on AIM) Big companies like the Deutsche Bahn will do some due diligence on a supplier to make sure they will deliver, so that was a comfort.Negatives are quite numerous though.Melczer's share sale at 5.25p wasn't exactly a ringing endorsement of their prospects. The oil price slump seems to me a bad thing for all the energy-saving eco-fuel plays. You are left with the anti-pollution credentials, which are quite strong.Competition: I don't know who does the hydrogen powered London buses but it isn't PPS, ie we are far from the only player in town.Debt: I find phrases like 'change in the fair value of the embedded derivatives on the shareholder loan' (From the October results) profoundly dispiriting. But generally I think these high risk AIM shares are very out of favour, so this should be a bargain! Who knows. DYOR and tell us the results!

Re: Technically very strong Wiseoldowl1,If you are still invested / active on this BB what's your take on PPS's continuing slump?I know the decline is based on prices emerging from ridiculously low volumes but why are the mgt not making any effort to communicate with its shareholders?I'm not personally invested in PPS but my son is - not based on rec from me - and he asked for my views.Any clarity greatly appreciated.

RNS Agreement with BahnbauRNSRNS Number : 4352TProton Power Systems PLC20 July 2015 Proton Power Systems plc ("Proton" or the "Company" Cooperation Agreement with German Rail subsidiary Bahnbau for sales and service of hydrogen fuel cell UPS systems Proton Power Systems plc (AIM: PPS), the designer, developer and producer of fuel cells and fuel cell electric hybrid systems, is pleased to announce, that it signed a cooperation agreement with DB Bahnbau Gruppe GmbH ("Bahnbau", the service company of German Rail ("DB" for rail network infrastructure installation and maintenance. Bahnbau will sell and install Proton's containerised fuel cell systems as UPS applications to DB and third party customers. DB is planning to replace the installed base of diesel generator UPS systems with zero emission fuel cell applications over the coming years. Bahnbau will provide the site planning, installation and service for containerised systems from Proton. In addition to DB, Bahnbau will also offer those solutions to other third party customers in industries like IT, transport and manufacturing. Bahnbau (www.bahnbaugruppe.de) has one of the largest technical service organisations in Germany. The decision to replace old diesel systems is not only based on environmental aspects but also on commercial aspects. High maintenance cost for old diesel installations makes it more commercially viable for DB installations to use the new fuel cell technology. Proton will supply complete containerised solutions with the fuel cell, switchgear, cooling and UPS system for a power demand from 6 to 250kW. Faiz Francoise Nahab, CEO of Proton, said: "This is a key milestone for our company and fits well within the recent expansion of our manufacturing facilities enabling large quantity manufacturing capacity. To work with experts like Bahnbau is something we always had in mind. The decision of DB to use fuel cell UPS systems to replace old diesel applications is also to be seen as a milestone for our industry. Not only has the environmental aspect driven that decision but also commercial considerations, which is very important for our industry." - Ends -loadsadough
