Trading Update I just think Manx is in an out of favour sector that’s all, with little growth but solid dividend and solid profits. Growth could come from the incubator companies and they say the data centre will return to growth at some point. But other than that little other growth. I like it for dividend and I doubt it will be punished much in a crash.

Trading Update " pre-close trading update prior to the release of its interim results for the first six months of 2018, due to be announced on 12 September 2018. “”“The Board confirms that trading during the first half of 2018 has been in line with management expectations and has continued to generate positive free cashflow, supporting the increased dividend announced with our 2017 results. The Company’s core domestic business of Fixed Line, Broadband, Data and Mobile performed well, delivering another solid revenue performance.”" This seems on the money, yet the stock is now 13% off it’s 52 week high. Our high-speed broadband services are available to 93% of customer premises on the island, with penetration of this premium service in our customer base having now reached 56%. What’s the definition of high speed broadband here, is it the same as BT’s fibre to the cabinet which is a fudge being part copper into the home from the cabinet? perhaps 56% of the 93% available as a lot of older people might not need the extra speed? - sorry for being ageist in that sense. “”"“The rollout of our ultrafast FTTP broadband service (‘Fibre to the Premise’) has progressed well with over 2,500 premises now passed increasing to 4,600 due to be passed by the year end. “”” This seems like a success and I assume at considerably higher margins than standard broadband (ADSL) or Fibre to the Cabinet (if that’s what their high speed offer implies). The Mobile business performed as expected with good take up of our UK and EU roaming package, Smartroam, introduced last year. I wonder how relevant this is now, given that roaming charges have been dropped across EU countries – I upgraded my data package on my cell provider today and they went to great pains to explain to me today that there is now no charges if i travel abroad and I can use my standard minutes, data and text? Our Global Solutions business continues to experience further growth Be nice if they gave a hint as to how much growth? , whilst Data Centre revenue remained broadly flat. Oh dear, is this becoming a white elephant perhaps? Both of these areas show opportunity for growth through the remainder of the year. Let’s hope so eh!! The Company’s Transformation Programme remains on track with the associated benefits starting to accrue and further investment made into our systems and processes. As previously stated these exceptional costs will continue into the second half of the year as the programme comes to completion. Please not greater than forecast !! Vannin Ventures, our business incubator, continues to provide exciting opportunities with significant medium-term growth expected from its investment in Goshawk Communications and the development of its telecom solution for those with hearing difficulties. This is progressing well, with good results seen from our current pilot, ahead of an Isle of Man launch in the second half of the year and subsequent launch in the UK in 2019."" seems positive and coming through loud and clear - thanks! Games – Anyone got any comments on this lot or other relevant stuff about Manx?

Traduing statement - looks OK - I’m unable to post a new topic as the software has crashed and left me with “Open Draft”, which once pressed, blanks the screen so here is the text Manx Telecom Plc (AIM:MANX; the “Company”), the leading communication solutions provider on the Isle of Man, is pleased to provide this pre-close trading update prior to the release of its interim results for the first six months of 2018, due to be announced on 12 September 2018. Re: Dividend alert ... Yes but its not a very good write up, it has put Manx on a dividend yield trap list. But it fails to say that the data centre should return to growth shortly, and fails to mension incubator companies.

Re: Annual Report keeping this at 1.3% of my wad, together a new investment in another IOM company, strix that make the kettle safety shut of devices, which makes up another 0.6%.Not exactly big spender category, but both steady companies, if not a tad indebted in the case of Strix.Games

Results Not bad results, quite solid and steady with decent margins ,nice dividend increase. This is a good solid dividend holding although I am not expecting massive profit increases unless the incubator companies give us a nice surprise in the future.

Re: Rising Rates Hi Dand, Yes I did. My last post was a mistake, it should have been for the NG board, but rising rates is an issue for most companies, including Manx.Hopefully Manx will follow a defensive trend if the market turns south.Games
