Takeover Bid drat, this was on my candidate list last year at 180p for a reliable 6%+ yield, but I never got round to it. Well done to everyone who got an unexpected boost today. If it is a real bargain at 215p (plus a final final dividend of 7.9p) then someone should come in with a better offer, but I can’t imagine that happening since this seems a done deal with Basalt already.

Sold on the cheap and a missed opportunity The management at Manx are chumps, unless they see something bad on the horizon. Even these guys see the future growth is not factored in at all. No wonder these guys are trying to close the deal fast. This needs another bidder :- “”"""Premium not large enough In a note to clients, however, analysts at Peel Hunt suggested that the premium Baslat is paying for Manx Telecom is not large enough. They said: “On a peer group dividend yield of 5.7%, this values the core on 220p, our price target, but then we have the optionality for Vannin Ventures, which led the company to state it will double Group revenue in five years. “This implies a CAGR of 15% vs 1% CAGR for the previous five. Whilst we reiterate our price target of 220p, we believe, even this, potentially undervalues the optionality from Vannin by at least 25p.”""" Games

Sold on the cheap At 207p that represents about 15.6 P/E. Is that too cheap for a virtual monopoly? It’s not really grown, but with the new audio stuff it could have done. Is this a good price to lose a great cash cow? - I don’t think so. The current price as good as reflect the 207 + the dividend so may as well sell and redeploy the cash. Games

Takeover Bid These are the final results. I think they are selling it far too cheaply : Revenues of £81.5m (2017: £78.5m) Seems like a reasonable rise Fixed Line, Broadband and Data revenues stable at £30.8m (2017: £31.5m). Slight decline so they either lost some or people using it less Mobile revenues increased 11.9% year on year. That’s a good result Continued growth in Global Solutions with revenue increasing 5.4% year on year. Data Centre revenues consistent at £4.7m (2017: £4.7m). Other revenues increased by 7.4% to £6.3m (2017: £5.9m), driven primarily by non-mobile kit sales. also a progressive rise · Underlying EBITDA increased slightly to £27.2m (2017: £27.1m). Reported EBITDA, including the final costs related to the Transformation Programme and investment in Goshawk Communications (“Goshawk”), increased to £23.3m (2017: £23.1m). Good to see even the statutory increasing as well · Underlying Profit Before Tax reduced slightly to £14.8m (2017: £15.1m) due to increased interest payments, with reported Profit Before Tax of £11.6m (2017: £11.9m). Pretty boring but relatively stable · Strong underlying Free Cash Flow (FCF) at £18.0m (2017: £20.0m) with 2017 being exceptionally high having the benefit of cash from the completion of a very popular share save scheme. Reported FCF up 5.1% at £9.5m (2017: £9.1m) due to improvements in working capital. · An increase in net debt to £63.0m at the year end (2017: £56.9m) was driven by cash investment in our Transformation Programme and growth initiatives across the business, including Goshawk, resulting in a net debt/underlying EBITDA ratio of 2.3x (2017: 2.1x). This is getting more uncomfortable · Final dividend of 7.9p (2017: 7.5p) making 12.0p for the full year (2017: 11.4p). Well this is the last one we’ll get. Games – looks like there are no other bidders!!!

Takeover Bid Just expecting results today, so a nice surprise was the takeover bid. Not even had chance to look at the results

Can not find previous post here Yes I’ve held this for a while, mainly for the solid dividend, don’t think I have made any money on the capital though in fact I think it’s down a little on where I bought quite a while ago. But that dividend looks safe and it adds a bit of stability in tough markets I think anyway. I am just thinking this goshawk hearing clarity thing they have might be worth a bit if they get a royalty for it. Who knows. But I’m keeping them.

Can not find previous post here Hi shareordie Noticed this post on valentines day been meaning to have a look it has improved a touch since, is it one you hold ? Came across a post from you looking back at some chat on IAE ( Ithaca Energy ) I wasn’t sure at first . That chat all disappeared from here now. Pity there were some interesting posters .

What's going on? Is this Gashawk thing much bigger than we thought, or is something else going on? Anyone know? The price seems to know something more than I do.

Can not find previous post here Some price action here, not seen on this company for a while,I wonder if the cancord holding does mean someone is interested in Manx. That would be nice.

Can not find previous post here Interesting to see institutional investor action here today, a sale by one and canaccord picking around 5% up. But looking at canaccord wiki, it seems they do a lot on mergers. We will have to see what happens here, might be nothing. [link]

Can not find previous post here I have Manx for the dividend, looks solid. Although it is down on what I bought I’m sure long term it will keep paying the dividend and grow a little. But not expecting a big capital gain though. It doesn’t seem to move much.

Trading Update Encouraging :- “”"LONDON (Alliance News) - Manx Telecom PLC on Wednesday confirmed that it traded in line with management expectations in 2018 and said it sees further growth potential after a rollout of its Fibre to the Premise programme. The communication solutions provider said it has delivered good revenue growth during the year, driven by Global Solutions division and an improved performance in mobile. Meanwhile, underlying earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization was in line with management expectations and was underpinned by another year of consistent performance in the core domestic business. The company said the rollout of its Fibre to the Premise has continued to gain momentum, and now covers all key business districts, industrial estates and selected residential areas on the Isle of Man. “Our solid core performance continued through the second half, maintaining the platform which allows us to develop our growth businesses,” said Chief Executive Gary Lamb. Manx Telecom will announce its 2018 results on March 13. Manx Telecom shares were trading 1.0% higher on Wednesday at 156.00 pence each.""" Games
