LED lighting/Thales I do not know whether LPA will benefit from these, Castleford Tiger is probably the person who knows most. Dialight is having a torride time but very likely in different markets from LPA

Thales contract win Will LPA will see any of the £760m contact to overhaul signalling on the London underground? I see Thales have been clients in the past but not sure if signalling is covered in LPA's offering.

Re: Weak company/I DISAGREE Of course this year was to be one of transition. We were told that .Lets look at some facts. In the last 5 years the price has moved from 30p to 72p taking todays selling price. We have of course had a mini rally to a high of 140p.So of course it depends on when you bought the shares.W Ireland have been appointed and they will meet stockbrokers in early July and have a detailed note.Buying a company in its growth stage can be fraught with problems and I can see your points butIts difficult to get shares here even today 10,000 right now are 78p and just 5k available at market price. This may well take a year or so give you a big rewards but when it comes it will be big.DART group was 16p and I was arguing the same case. Today its 420p as the growth came and the market was forced to re rate.I still think the company will make 2 million a year and be valued at 15x earnings which translates to about 300p a share.Of course I may be wrong............but with 2.97% I have put my money on the table.I do think management is up to the task and Peter works very hard. They say the darkest hour is the one before dawn and I think that's where we are now.We are at a low point. If I am correct about the above why jump now?Anyway guys you must make the call based on your judgements.I remain a stake builder and will buy on any weakness.regardsTiger

Weak company The results are very weak and I now am increasingly concerned that LPA is a fundamentally weak company. Castleford Tiger has been consistent in his support both in this board and in his purchases, indeed, may be poised for a bid He may well be proved right but when Meanbugger says that he is almost past caring, I know what he means. My instinct has been telling me for a long time, that I should sell since there are many attractive opportunities elsewhere. However, my heart has wanted LPA to succeed for their own sake as much as mine and I keep holding on ,in hope. What worries me now is the seeming absence of a sound fundamental business. The "quiet" start to the year and the expectation of "modest" progress for the rest of the year, begs the question of what does the company do and is it viable, in the absence of big orders. The next question is whether they can actually handle in sudden tidal wave of work profitably and the problems in closing Clacton and integrating the reduced capacity does not inspire confidence. Finally, there is the loss on the pension fund. I know that it is not treated as a trading loss but it has to be made good over time. The real question to which I do not know the answer, is over the capability of the management team. No doubt that they are technically competent but are they leaders in business? I think the best solution for LPA would be for a larger company to absorb them, leaving them to develop their engineering skills but within a sharper business environment.

Jam tomorrow LPA is clearly a jam tomorrow stock and hopefully it will be a bumper pot of Tesco's finest rather than a measly single portion from a £30 a night B&B.I'm almost past caring waiting for good news as this stock has promised so much and delivered so little in the past.

why would a director buy? Because he knows its very good value.tiger

very bullish again Am looking forward to your post AGM update, Tiger. Clearly, the Bombardier order will be good news but is there a sustainable business outside of these major contracts on which LPA seems to be dependent? SP still only 50% of its previous high, ie has to rise by 100% to get back to where it was. No one happier than me to see £5 but just hope they have their commercial ducks in a row including cost and currency hedges.

CASTLEFORD TIGER 26 Mar 2015

very bullish again I have firm hopes that by 2017 this company will have a share price starting with a 5.We have laid the foundations for a company that can make 4 million pounds a year net profit. The hard work has been done and the orders are in place.I expect this to recover even more later this year. There will be some interesting notes after todays meeting. I will update later.Tiger

Dialight results Dialight produced excellent results to-day. I( do not know if LPA is in the same market but if so, the sector looks encouraging
