ePremier League Tournament Nice rise after announcement that GFIN will be running this tournament at the Gfinity Arena with the final being broadcast on SKY Sports. Here’s hoping we can move back up into the 20p+ level where we were earlier this year. Maybe worth a punt if you are not aboard yet as online football games are popular with modern day kids who like punching the buttons indoors rather than actually rolling in the mud in the local park. Re: OT - 1947MGTC You may be right, I'm just thinking maybe they walked the price down for the placing and will now walk it back up. Pure gamble. Good analysis, thanks.

Re: OT - 1947MGTC I sold. I only invest quite small amounts in cash-burners, so I thought about hanging on for a rebound after the placing. There's just too much cash burn compared to the revenue growth, for me. I expect the company to be successful, but in general, unless there's strong investor enthusiasm backed by cash, a cash-burner stock can dwindle fast. Where would Tesla be without enthusiastic shareholders? While GFIN's revenue doubled from £ 902,212 (in 6 months to Dec 2016) to 1,829,298, Cost of sales was up more than 5x, from 993,174 to 5,043,089. I can understand the Admin cost going up (as it did, 2.7x) due to investment. Cost of sales, not so much. GFIN say:"Costs of sale of £5.0m included £4.1m of costs in respect of the first two seasons of Gfinity Elite Series in the UK. Following this initial launch phase, this will revert to one season per six-month period."There could be a good return on the expense, but I don't know how long payback will take, or how much shareholder dilution there'll be before then.I could easily have the sale as wrong as the buy (I took a loss of about 50%). I sold Audioboom (around breakeven) when the latest results suggested the cash burn could drag on, and soon after they announced a deal like a reverse takeover, which is probably good for the stock, though it's currently suspended. I don't mean the same will happen to GFIN, just that reasonable decisions can be proved wrong due to unpredictable developments, particularly for little AIM stocks and cash burners, in my view.

Re: Placing Hi Chip,I think there is credibility in the profile of the major shareholders, esp Nigel Wray. I think a good strategy is to sit tight and look at who the major shareholders are after the placing and see who is new and who has increased/decreased their holding. I like the concept of the company and am sure it's an area for growth. Just don't know whether GFIN will make it happen and if so, over what time scale. Not very keen on the concept of "jam tomorrow" Getting too long in the tooth to play the long, long gameBest,47tc

Re: OT - 1947MGTC Could be a rare opportunity to pay the same as the institutions, what with general tech gloom.Interims/ placing statement marvellously insouciant re profits. ie not a hint that there might ever be any, almost proud of their growing losses. But F1 and Lynx and Microsoft are big names.Long term good prospect at this price IMHO .I would say Buy, but the button has gone dead. Probably just as well.

Re: OT - 1947MGTC Hi OneDB1,Thanks for the posting and chart. Last time there was a placing, I think that Charles Street Investments hoovered nearly everything up. Can't seem to find out much about them other than they hold just short of 30% of the stock. Could be a good price to top up but as you say, it would be nice to see a change in direction for the SP and the development of a positive trend line. I'm going to watch and wait for the moment and hope the BoD remember to keep the PIs in the loopThanks Again,Best Wishes47tc

OT - 1947MGTC Here I am mate. I wish I could give you an explosive TA view but as I mentioned a while back Gfinity is growing and needs cash . Hence AIM as its platform . You need to look at this from a fundamentals point of view. The firm is expanding and needs to finance it . Even Facebook was once worth very little. Chart would suggest from a directional point of view that the trend is sticking . The placing at 12p may be a bottomWhat you want is a break out of that long and painful down trending tram line . Its quite an easy diagnosis but not what you want to hear view . It is very oversold must say and the placing might entice more buyers if they think its a bargain . But wouldn't bet on it personally Am a fan of eSports long term , just want to see a different price action to load up [link]

potential placing ah I see. They are trying to do a placing of shares at 12p so shares have dropped to that....

yankeechief 27 Mar 2018

what's happening Does anyone know why this share has lost 50% in the last few days. Could it be because of the tie up with Facebook 2 weeks ago?
