Re: More good News The good news continues with the results of the auction in Jaipur, India which finished last Thursday. The full report is shown on the Gemfields website under RNS's.In the last financial year there were 3 auctions which totaled US 82.4. So far this year there have been 5 auctions totaling US 124.4 with one more auction of higher quality rubies in June 2015, just before the financial year end. Roll on September when we will receive this years results.Ian Harebottle, CEO of Gemfields, commented:"This week’s Jaipur auction has witnessed the next step in the evolution of the Montepuez ruby deposit’s deep-seated and positive impact on the global ruby market. Customer response in the Jaipur market, where this was the first ever offering of such a considerable volume of non-domestic rough ruby has been overwhelming, as can be seen in the excellent auction results. The five auctions we have hosted so far this financial year, three of emeralds and two of rubies, haveyielded aggregate revenues of USD 124.4 million, a superb performance by Gemfields with credit dueto every member of our devoted and hard-working team worldwide.Goldminer70

More good News More good News from Gemfields ~ It never stopsFrom Proactivity A visit by an analyst from broker Numis Securities to Gemfields’ (LON:GEM) flagship emerald mine demonstrated significant progress in the last 12 months.“Emerald mining is a volatile game, but Gemfields appears to be getting closer to finding some stability in an unstable world,” the broker reckons.Gemfields' Kagem pit has greater expansion potential than previously thoughtJohn Harrington April 17 2015, 1:28pm 'A visit to the Kagem pit demonstrated significant progress since we visited 12 months ago,' Numis said"A visit to the Kagem pit demonstrated significant progress since we visited 12 months ago," Numis saidA visit by an analyst from broker Numis Securities to Gemfields’ (LON:GEM) flagship emerald mine demonstrated significant progress in the last 12 months.“Our key takeaway is that given that underground is now not really part of the equation (also not in our model), we have renewed confidence in the open pit and future mine plan,” the analyst said after a return visit to Kagem, the world’s largest emerald mine.Gemfields is confident of a 30-year lifespan for the open pit at Kagem, and following the visit Numis has acknowledged that the expansion and exploration potential is greater than it had previously figured.Good progress had been made on-site evaluating potential satellite pits, Numis reported, with bulk sampling ongoing at Fibolele and Libwente. The term bulk sampling is misleading, Numis reckons, as Fibolele and Libwente are more akin to small open pits. With a few million carats already mined, these projects are shaping up to provide future resources to complement the main pit, Numis said.On other licences, bulk sampling is being prepared at Kamakanga, and a start-up mine plan is being prepared at Mbuva-Chibolele. With nearly 20 geologists on site there is a huge amount of science and resources being focused on production and exploration, and the Numis representative left with little doubt about the longevity of the operation.“Mining is ticking along nicely at present, with the Kagem grade starting to bounce back. The reported grade has recently been suppressed by the inclusion of some dilution from material coming from the bulk sampling operations, i.e. it is currently a blended grade,” Numis reported.“Emerald mining is a volatile game, but Gemfields appears to be getting closer to finding some stability in an unstable world,” the broker added.“All in all, the visit increases and affirms our confidence in the operational side of the emerald business. This is reassuring because it all feeds through to the auction platform where Gemfields continues to have success in creating the market and driving the price of emeralds,” the report concluded.Goldminer70

Market Update to 31st March When I EMailed Gem re the next auction I was given the March dates which I posted. Apparently the reply came from a PR company, which was completely wrong.Today we have a Market Update to March 31st which is fantastic and the reason for the up 11% The price on 1st Jan 2015 was 33p so todays 66p is exactly up 100% in 3.5 months (most in the last week or so)It is too long to post here but go to the Gemfields websiteA real GEM of a company.Footnote to the report says "Gemfields’ next auction will be of traded rough emerald (i.e. not obtained directly from the Company’s ownmining operations) and is scheduled to take place in Jaipur, India alongside the Montepuez ruby auction in the third week of April 2015" Goldminer70

Auction Results These are the brokers comments on the results of Gemfields AuctionCanaccord: GEMFIELDS (GEM LN, NOT RATED, MC £257M) – Lusaka rough emerald, beryl, and amethyst auctionGemfields announced the results of its auction of largely lower quality rough emerald and beryl from the Kagem emerald mine. The auction also included higher quality amethyst from Kariba Minerals Ltd, in which Gemfields has a 50% interest.Emerald and beryl auction revenues were US$14.5 with an average realised price US$3.72/carat – a new record for lower quality auctions. Of the 10.1 Mct that were offered for sale 39% were sold (3.9 Mct).Amethyst auction revenues totalled US$0.45M, the average realised price was US$0.02/ct and of the 27.7 Mct offered for sale 91% were sold (25.2 Mct).Gemfields' next auction will take place in Jaipur at the end of March 2015 and will comprise predominantly lower quality rough rubies and corundum from the Montepuez ruby deposit in Mozambique.Cantor’s – positive commentaryResults of Emerald, Beryl and Amethyst Auction Gemfields has announced the results of their lower quality rough emerald and beryl auction as well as the higher quality amethyst auction held in Lusaka last week. The results set another record for realized per carat prices for lower quality emerald and beryl and completes seven successful auctions in Zambia in the last 22 months for the company. Specifics of the results were: Emerald and beryl auction - revenues of $14.5m• Average realised price of $3.72 per carat, a new record for lower quality auctions;• Of the 10.1 million carats that were offered for sale, 3.9 million carats were sold (39%); and Amethyst auction - revenues of $0.45m• Average realised price was 1.77 US cents per carat; and• Of the 27.7 million carats offered for sale, 25.2 million carats were sold (91%)Investec: Gemfields (GEM LN) low quality emerald auction generates US$14.5m realising an average price of US$3.72/carat, a new record for low quality auctions. 10.1m carats were offered for sale of which 3.9m were soldThe takes total revenues at Kagem since July 2009 to US$. An amethyst auction generated US$0.45m selling 27.7m carats at 1.77c/carat. A low quality ruby auction is scheduled for the end of March.Investec View: An encouraging emerald auction from a US$/carat perspective. We suspect that the better quality stones made available were sold in light of the fact that 19 of the 26 lots offered were sold comprising 38% of the stones available for sale. The real value generation at Kagem comes from the high quality stone auctions that typically account for around 70% of the value of the product from the mine, and for which we have continued to see strong price appreciation.JPMC: Gemfields: Lower quality auction resultsNeutral· Gemfields has realised revenue of $15 million from the auction of lower quality emeralds and beryl and higher-quality amethyst in Lusaka. A new record price per carat was set for lower quality emeralds and beryl. In our opinion, lower quality auction results are not a particularly strong indicator of the position and prospects of the company, but it is important to note that Gemfields has adapted to the restrictions imposed on the sale of gemstones mined in Zambia and has now completed seven auctions in Lusaka, raising $165 million in revenue.· Emerald and beryl auction results. Gemfields sold 3.9 million carats of lower quality emeralds and beryl, raising $14.5 million. The average price was $3.72 per carat. The price was a new record that exceeded the previous record of $3.32 per carat by 12%. Although 88% of lots by value were sold, this represented only 39% of lots by weight. Total revenue was 6% less than the previous lower quality emerald and beryl auction in August 2014, which raised $15.5 million.· Amethyst auction results. 25.2 million carats of higher quality amethy

Re: Next Auction The results of the latest auction were announced this morning[link] this doesn't work go to the Gemfields website.Peter Harebottle the CEO commented"We’ve set another record for realised per carat prices at an auction of lower quality emerald and beryl, and have now completed seven successful auctions in Zambia, all during the last 22 months. It is pleasing to see a total of 88% of the total value of the lots placed on offer being bought and Zambian emeralds continuing to enjoy such firm demand. Gemfields is increasingly becoming the supplier of choice for many of the world’s leading polishing and jewellery-manufacturing houses. We look forward to our auction of lower quality Montepuez ruby in Jaipur later this month where we believe the market is as excited as we are to be a part of this first ever offering of such a considerable volume of non-domestic ruby rough in India.”Goldminer70
