Re: Still Optimistic? hmm.. the takeover sounds like a very good opportunity for Findel as well as our investment . I think you have restored my faith a bit DDP.

Re: Still Optimistic? This is my take on it Kronom. This financial year the company has managed to sell Kleeneze which had become a serious problem. Furthermore, the margin target of 7% that the company set itself has allegedly been achieved leading to the CEO "retiring" following completion of a successful turnaround job. An article published on the 22nd January confirms this point - [link] The company are not currently seeking a replacement CEO, instead the non executive chairman Mr David Sugden will take the reins in the role as executive chairman. The next thing you need to know Kronom is that the ten major shareholders who collectively hold 81.54% of the total issued shares have not sold a share between them. In fact one of them (I don't know which one) added a further 86,500 shares to their holding only this week. This all leads me to believe that the company are now in the perfect position to actively seek a buyer for the business. At what level ? Who knows. Except to say that in isolation Express Gifts is probably worth £300m on its own.In answer to your Still optimistic question. Yes I am. I am still holding (as all ten major shareholders are) in the belief that full value realisation is a near term possibility.DDP

Still Optimistic? Hey Guys,I just talked to my broker and really started wondering if my money wouldn't work for me better elsewhere...I've been with Findel for hmmm... 5-6 years now... and I wonder after seeing the results, where we are heading from here... On a positive side, FDL isn't really responding to FTSE's movements significantly... unless the market turns all of the sudden into a bear one, we are "pretty safe" ... but what is safe... wouldn't the money be better invested elsewhere? Despite all the broker ratings (3.5, 3.75 price targets), the stock isn't doing anything.. it can be another 2-3 years before we see 3.2 again (plain guess).. it's hard to make any educated predictions here as these daily 10% swings, which we see sometimes, don't seem to have any sort of backing from news or technical levels. Do you Guys see the uptrend to continue for Findel? What do you think would have to happen for the price to start accelerating?kronom

Pre closed period trading statement Some good news and some not such good news but the bottom line is that it's seven per cent margin target looks to have been achieved which is an exceptional achievement, so well done to all those involved for a fantastic job. With a multi channel retailer as diversified as this, it is extremely difficult to have all the brands operating profitably at the same time. Fortunately Express Gifts would still appear to be maximising its potential and Kitbag does look to be improving but now Education has hit turbulence and as advised will continue to struggle to make headway for the foreseeable future. With the market for mergers and acquisitions in full swing, might now be a good moment to sell the business to a foreign investor ?DDP

The mute shorter. This is an extract from a former contributor to this discussion board."On this occasion, I can't see anything other than a capitulation for Kleeneze and on this basis, yes, I am changing my general approach.Sorry, but we must all flex our positions based on reality."The reality is that Kleeneze has now been sold. Does this mean that this self confessed shorter has again flexed positions and gone long ?DDP

Never over until funds received. Always a relief to see a deal over the line, none more so than Kleeneze, well done board of directors, top job. That might well be Mr Siddles last act as CEO, thanks for the memories Roger, we are in a better place than we were in 2010.Now for the year end figures, seven per cent margin target achieved ? That would be an exceptional achievement.DDP

Re: RNS due......nm often price go up/down because some people still get to know whether it will be good news or not - they never have managed to stop insider trading. SO hopefully this signals good news.

Investors Chronicle mention A very erratic week of trading and I have no idea what to make of it. I did however notice that Findel got a mention in this weeks Investors Chronicle under the Lowest Price to Sales section along with eight other companies. That can only help.Gurufocus are quoting a current enterprise value of £400m, more than twice the current value. With only one week to go before the financial year end I am very much looking forward to learning whether the company has managed to achieve its margin target of seven per cent. If they have then we can look forward to pre tax profit of £30m plus. Exciting times.DDP
