NED Resignation Today The price drop today has certainly been large and unwelcome. Is it simply due to David Grundy's departure with immediate effect? Or is there something else going on?MM

Re: Buying opportunity? Morning Casa (I'm sure you'll forgive the omission of 'Good'!!)This is my third attempt at a response - my luck is mimicking my absence of investing prowess at the moment! On Friday, my iPad dumped my draft when I switched screen to check a number, then just now the forum-bot objected to some choice euphemisms that I had used to describe the current debacle. So here goes, hoping for 3rd time lucky ...I think I was agreeing that prices are being marked down on low volumes and irrespective of how sound fundamentals might still be. IIRC, ENTU staged a small recovery on Friday but that has clearly been undone today (down 6.6% as I write, my second-biggest faller after AIR). The rampant fear in the market seems to me purely momentum-driven - one of the reasons I distrust momentum buying strategies, the direction of travel can turn on a whim if not underpinned by sound fundamentals - and can happen even when they are, on occasions such as these. So my namesake Mr Market will surely underprice some of these stocks at some point. But when? The falling knives are still plummetting, who knows how far momentum will take this rout? As an ENTU holder of just 4 weeks, this is painful to watch but it isn't just small-caps affected, my investment in BRBY 2 weeks ago was similarly mistimed. I try to remind myself that 'time, not timing' is what matters, but it's getting harder. With future hindsight, perhaps the better thing to be doing now is selling out and re-entering at a lower point. However, having cleared out the stocks I wanted rid of anyway, I'm more inclined to hold and hang-on to shares I believe have enduring quality earnings. Said with fingers firmly crossed ...Good luck to allMM

Re: Buying opportunity? Hello MrMeerkat,I agree. Not only the scribblers but also investors are generally absent in August. In addition, we have the currency wars continuing as China devalues and Japan issues unlimited QE. There are some excellent buying opportunities occuring. I wonder if the Fed dare increase interest rates next month after this experience. The DJIA has fallen below 17000 today. Most of the big caps I hold are being trashed atm but the smaller stocks have held up much better. Casa.

Re: Buying opportunity? Hello CasaAs I commented on the CNKS board, perhaps the recent price movements are a consequence of the scribblers being on holiday rather than anything meaningful. And today's lift is somewhat more encouraging.MM

Re: sad The latest report advised that the removal of Government "green" subsidies was affecting their business (for insulation and solar installations).Dividend promise seems generous, but will the Company be able to pay it out of free cash flow?

Re: Buying opportunity? MrMeerkat,The fall today has probably been exacerbated by the sp crashing through stop loss levels. I don't use them anymore and I have been topping up on nearly every fall so, yes, it's hurting atm. I am going to have a look on ENTU's website and if I find anything of interest, I will report back.Casa.

Re: Buying opportunity? CasaOur posts crossed and I share your doubts. And the SP has dropped another 2% since I started my previous post ... Eek!MM

Re: Buying opportunity? Ooph! I bought 2 weeks ago at 114.6. Since when ENTU appears to have fallen out of favour - typical! I know I invest for the long term rather than trade but it still hurts. Why the further big fall today? Have I missed some news? Or is it continued reaction to the policy on reducing energy efficiency subsidies in the UK?MM - wondering whether to stop-loss or top-up

Re: Buying opportunity? Well I have to admit to catching the falling knife on this one. The half year results have been out for over a week so I would have expected a fall in price last week. The fall is even steeper this week. How much this is attributable to the Chinese devaluation of its currency and ENTU's connection with providing solar panels stretches my imagination somewhat. If anything, they should become cheaper. Some of the fall will be down to market sentiment but it looks well oversold as 95.7p. But what do I know?Casa.

Re: Buying opportunity? Agreed - I am waiting for the price to bottom out and turn up a bit ( graph like a U ) before topping up.

casabanker 04 Aug 2015

Buying opportunity? They say that if something is too good to be true then it usually is. However, I have bought a serious amount of ENTU this morning at an unbelievable price of 106.2. It's either opportunity knocks or I've been had. With a PER of 9 and falling for the next two years, a strong balance sheet, little or no debt, a strong order book and a dividend of 7% what can go wrong? Okay, I know, plenty but with statistics like this, I am willing to take the risk. We will have to wait a little while for confimation of an improved H2 but as we are nearly through three quarters of the year, the management must have a good idea of how its going. Casa.

Re: New Edison note a lot of trust has go

pmrleahy 03 Aug 2015

New Edison note I see Edison have published a new note on ENTU. It's v interesting and worth a read:[link] is some new information in it which gives me more confidence about the recent half-yearly report.

Re: Bought some more today. Chis,You are right of course. One of these days the FCA will take some action and it cannot come soon enough for me. The rules are plain enough and if the pi's can see it, I'm sure the Authorities can.Casa.
