Interesting.... From Sara Evening Times Who is Nick Train, the second biggest shareholder in Celtic? BRENDAN Rodgers’ sudden departure for Leicester City wasn’t bad news for everyone with an interest in Celtic. For Nick Train, the co-founder of…

Interesting.... From Sara Well it was a pleasant surprise to me that shares i had paid 30p for now seem to be 166p. "Football shares in the past have never been a good way to get rich, there is no money in it unless " This is in the past and you say you are good at maths , it looks good to me what have i got wrong ? What do you make the gain or loss to be ? I thought the post was about money not quality of the football . They must be well run ,isn’t there a former home secretary on the board . ( that might not usually me a good pointer lol )

Interesting.... From Sara I think of Scottish football (or being a Celtic fan) as some one going into a casino & cheering on the house to win. There is little to no competition. Why do people turn up every week to follow it, it is a for-gone conclusion? At least with the Premiership you have two! Football shares in the past have never been a good way to get rich, there is no money in it unless you´re a player agent, or someone that needs to pick up a bit of insurance on a knackered plane that you want to see the end of! I don´t know whether it is best to doing research or just think just go for it. If you have followed my youtube videos on the mathematical probabilty chance at the end of the day it boils down to how you yourself interpret the statistics available & the success you´re likely to have. “My charts tell me this” & another poster “I interpret these charts completely differently”. The probabilty of small numbers. The only fundamental that never changes is human behaviour!

Interesting.... From Sara Yes i bought Celtic with no research at all. Canary Wharf is in the memory of me reading about the open offer advertised in the free paper all those years back. Sorry to lose you ( it is on the Celtic page )

SaraRacano 09 Feb 2019

Interesting.... From Sara Bought a few of what? Are you on about Celtic FC shares? What´s passing through Canary Wharf, got to do with anything? Human nature is to buy on emotion. This post has lost me!

Interesting.... From Sara Hi Sara. Hope you did not mind me copying this over , i bought a few of these when passing through canary wharf on way to work years ago i can still recall the day , an open offer was advertised in a copy of the metro . The big no 25 lehman building looked very smart . Think they were about 33p have paper certs in a box somewhere lol I do not know if there has been a consolation in those years if not the price is amazing. No research just the memory of my late father an Irish man who had a liking for them. Maybe buying on emotion not such a bad thing . Are you always on holiday ?

Interesting.... From Sara You could write about Rangers FC & themselves living way beyond their means. They still are not out the financial woods, there is still a lot of financial questions including unpaid bills to HRMC. There are many Rangers FC´s all over Europe. Look at the Turkish government props up 4 of the biggest teams. Turkish football is in a right financial mess. AC Milian, are another big one. My point was that if it were not for the arabs & their sponsorship to the top hierarchy most of these clubs would not be where they are PSG, they were in colossal debt, they haven´t got much of an history behind them. After all things like Qatar Airways & Emerates airlines are hardly that successful for mega bucks sponsorships!

Interesting Continuing the discussion from The arabs & football, what´s the true intention?: Continuing the discussion from The arabs & football, what´s the true intention?:

We Are The Champions Is there anybody there / here … popes ?.. ntg …? … anybody …? Another pussycat performance away from home in the ECL qualifiers tonite … and its finally sinking in - after all these recent years efforts - we are still only an average Europa League side, yet to qualify further this year… so what’s gone wrong … ? Much bleating about the failure of the Celtic Board to splash the £millions needed to make the ECL group stages … its all an excruciating dilemma - big ECL players come at a high price… a very high price… and they won’t go to a club that simply “has a chance” of getting to the Group or latter stages of the ECL. Even if those BIG players sign up … if Euro results are bad and they are left “stranded” at Celtic Park on massive contracts playing only SPFL games … first thing they will want is … OUT … Answer to the problem ? … throw £millions & £Billions to signing the top BIG Euro-standard players if you want any sniff of success. If you are not a club that talks in £Billions … just forget it. Not worth the entrance fee, just pick up a few £thousand quid from the punters at the ECL qualifier home games … put it in the bank … move on to the poor mans ECL- the Europa League, and forget about any European “glory” Sad, but true Celtic … ( " we coulda been a contender" (Marlon Brando) …haha But not with this the Celtic Board of Directors. They just missed the boat Big-Time … loadsa money in the bank … some fine players on the payroll … an excellent manager in situ … it could not have been that difficult to lure a few quality & expensive Euro-standard players just for a short ( one or 2-year ) lucrative contract -just to see if Celtic could move up to the next level. If not - nothing lost … at least we could say we tried … and we are still solvent. If it worked … Celtic would collect many more Euro & TV £Millions. Seems to me the Board of Directors have been stupified in the headlights …have not recognised that the last few months should have been the time to speculate & splash the cash and go for The Prize ( Euro CL glory … well, at least the Quarter-Finals ) After tonites result ( lost 2-1 to AEK ) … Celtic are again back to the “nobody-land” of the Europa League …£millions in the bank, but still in “nobody-land” Hail hail

Re: We Are The Champions ... indeed, popes ... 2 trebles ... Hail-hail, and its all there to be enjoyed, and never be taken for granted. Unlikely it will be like this forever ... but I also agree re the notable youths ... eg Tierney & McGregor & Forrest who have all come through the ranks ... gems, each of them young Bhoys ..Brilliant job done by the youth scouts & coaches ... unsung heroes, all of those guys ... rarely get any recognition for their brilliant work ... However, history suggests it might not be this good for Celtic forever - or maybe it could ? ... for me (74 years old now) ... one of my Bucket-List targets is to live on, survive long enough, & enjoy it all up to the end of SPFL season 20/21 ... Our Big Ten-in-a-Row year ... Hail .. hail ... PS... anyone out there who can find me one .. just one .. genuine ticket for an Old Firm game at ParkHead / Paradise next season 2018/19... ?Just one meagre ticket .. pleease ... getting older and older and I'm running out of years .. LolJG

We Are The Champions Another treble to cap two years of utter dominance in Scottish football. The competition should note the treble was achieved this year and Celtic hardly had to get out of first gear. Not the best to watch at times for this reason. The highlight of the season has been watching the Celtic youth lads hold down first team places and be our best players this year. It's there to be enjoyed and never taken for granted.[link]

Re: CELTICÂ’S £27.6m EURO WINDFALL Even with all that spare dosh lying around, Celtic still have the age-old dilemma - how to attract players who can make an impact in Euro Champions League? Unless there is enough money to pick up 3 or 4 Euro-class players at the same time, chances are we will still struggle to get past the Group stages. Top players know that, and look elsewhere to find fame and glory. In the meantime, Celtic could do a lot worse than make a move to Man City to prise that youngster Brandon Barker from his loan deal at Hibs. Not sure what the ethics are with loan players, but the Old Firm have always skimmed off the cream of other Scots teams. This boy was red hot when he came on for Hibs last weekend and roasted our defenders. Joining up with fellow-loanee Patrick Roberts could form a dynamic duo of wingers at Celtic.

CELTIC’S £27.6m EURO WINDFALL Celtic seem to be up to their knees in cash these days. Coming in from all directions. Can only be good for the future. It really is a super time for Celtic Football Club 1888.[link]
