agm update Panmure saying: "FY15 finals were published on April 28th so it is only 5 weeks since the new management team presented these to the investment community. Unsurprisingly, therefore, there is an absence of any new developments or surprises with today's AGM trading update which covers the period from January 1st to date. The update rather elaborates on some of the patterns observed at the underlying businesses in the 2016 Outlook statement contained within the FY15 results. We maintain our headline FY16 PBT* of £12m. Re: Tea prices Tee Washington Post reporting on tea consumption in the UK and other British staples:“Tea consumption per person has fallen consistently since the early 1970s, plummeting from almost 68 grams per week in 1974 to only 25 grams per week in 2014, as shown in the chart at the bottom right. The plunge of more than 63 percent is one of the biggest among all beverages in the country. Only malt drinks and coffee essences (whatever those are) have had greater drops.”[link] it all depends on what you call ‘tea’ and the ‘Brits’ should not be taken as an indication of global demand!“Ready-to-drink tea still is the powerhouse, representing more than half the market in sales and growing some 4 – 6%. Growth here is varied, with the more premium teas advancing 5 – 7% and the more generic, low priced teas holding steady with little or no growth. Along with the portable convenience of RTD tea, the growing demand of health conscious consumers, is a predominant force driving its popularity.”[link] an annual per capita basis, Indians drank 15.6 cups of coffee in 2014 and 16.6 cups so far this year, Sanjeev Raikar, research analyst at Euromonitor International, told CNBC. That pales in comparison to 163.7 cups of tea in 2014 and 176.6 cups this year, he said.”[link] is the world’s largest tea-producing country with an annual output of 1.4- 1.5 million tonne (MT) of green tea. India is the leading producer of black tea in the world with a 25% share of the total production. India consumes 75-80% of its own production.”[link]

Re: Tea prices Let hope this translates into better earnings for CAM. SP has been subdued for a while now and is currently trading at a significant discount to its NAV. In its last trading update released in Feb, it did mention about significant upwards revaluation of its biological assets. This could be partly due to the strong tea prices.
