Re: Interesting titbit from Mercopress Where is 'North of the Arctic Circle'?Also, how does a circle have a corner?

doginafog 12 Feb 2015

Interesting titbit from Mercopress Oil companies have eyed the Arctic for years. With an estimated 90 billion barrels of oil lying north of the Arctic Circle, the circumpolar north is arguably the last corner of the globe that is still almost entirely unexplored.[link] KR dif

Got to be worth a punt. May rise as rig gets close. But also success in NFB will push FOGL SP north and with it more wells in the South imo.Not sure about a farm in and oil prices will way heavily on this.Like I say well worth a punt, could go double digits imo.

Re: The Pizza deal So you thought this was dead in the water a few months ago?Let me refresh your memory---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ----Darkness before the break of dawn dated 14 September 2014As I understand it, all is still on track for what will be a great deal for BOR. When the deal gets announced, some may call it a pizza deal. The walk down that we have seen in the last week or so is of little concern if you are in BOR for the farm in deal. I expected news in September but farm outs take time and at this stage a few weeks here or there is nothing. No certainties in AIM but a significant double digit gain on BOR is as certain as you can get IMO. Here comes the Sun 😄 [link] Pizza Deal 09 October 2014Hearing things are getting close. Let's see[link] am trying to locate the post wher you said You thought it was dead, and I still can not find it.Care to post the link?

Thanks to ddd Energy Crisis As Early As 2016 It's coming...[link] ddd ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- -- If it pans out it, will significantly affect the values of any deep water discoveries in FOGL’S acreage as well as the value of BOR’S Darwin discovery. It would also mean that the discoveries would be almost certain to be brought into production ASAP. All IMVHO Here is keeping my fingers crossed KR dif

Oil Price Plunge - Fiction, Reality And Opportunity The Oil Price Plunge - Fiction, Reality And Opportunity Summary•What determines the price of oil on a daily basis? •The fiction and reality behind the collapse in the price of crude oil. •Where are the investment opportunities? In response to the rapid decline in the price of oil there has been a wealth of in-depth analysis and opinion covering all aspects of the oil business, global supply and demand issues and the geopolitical ramifications, as well as the message this decline is sending about economic strength in different regions around the world. What has been absent from this ongoing discussion, yet should be of primary importance, is what determines the price of oil. Full artcle can be read at:[link] KR dif.

Re: An extraordinary... Typical governments (greed)Eat the turkey before they have even caught itLet's tax the oil company's even before they start to make any moneyYou would think that they give them a tax holiday till at least they start producing some oil revenueMaybe even reduce the royalty till a couple of years into productionGreed is a terrible thing

Re: An extraordinary... Borders could always also put themselves up for sale as well (as could FOGL).========== ========== =========As could RKH!If during this next round of drilling there isn't anything significant discovered in either the NFB or SFB then I suspect that the whole FI oil and gas adventure will be mothballed for many years. The FIG will need to watch carefully what happens, if they are serious about oil and gas anytime soon then they'll need to act quickly. I think they dropped a clanger with the capital gains tax due from RKH after the farmout to PMO.

Re: An extraordinary... When FOGL needs more funds for any development work and if the market will not support a rights issue at a reasonable price , the company could still farm out some of its Licence in either North or South basins. If BOR can do a reasonable deal at this stage, it may be left with a large enough stake to be able to do one more farm-out and still be left with a small interest, perhaps a carried one. This assumes a rights issue or placement is not possible

Mike JE 15 Dec 2014

Re: An extraordinary... Even if they get a farmin partner won't BOR struggle to get funds at a decent rate for further appraisals should they be required. If oil price stays low into the campaign I see this as a problem for FOGL as well. When RKH struck oil at Sealion they were able to get a rights issue out at £3.50? a share to fund appraisals. Can see that as being a tad awkward unless oil price recovers significantly.Capex is being cut back by much of the industry and it will take some time for confidence to return before they start spending again.BTW another great podcast from Chris Martenson on the US shale "miracle" The truth is more dire than even he thought. Seems like the US is bluffing about oil independence imo.[link]
