IMS I'm disappointed in today's IMS, because of lack of detail. OK few companies give much detail at Q1&3 stage, but most give turnover figures. They told us what we knew, or at least suspected - EDS is going well, in line. ES has been affected by the low oil price, reducing clients' budgets. The other sectors: marine & power have been performing OK. No figures for us to quantify these themes.I guess it should not have much affect on the share price - the weak market due to the oil price is already priced in. However, markets may share my disappointment at lack of figures (apart from the net cash figure which is marginally up on the interim stage, so is a positive.)

8over8 This appears to be a good acquisition. The team appear to be dynamic and have a good product that should come in useful now. Strange name 8over8 (does anyone know why it is called this?)

Re: Interims They are not just an oil play. Aveva has recently aannounced major enhancements to AVEVA Net, the company’s flagship information management software for complex engineering projects. The new version is quicker and more efficient with an improved user interface and faster deployment'

Well its done the opposite. Thankfully. I admit LG seems to get Avanti correct but that has always been a volatile share subject to the shorters whims. Stick to buying good solid stocks, ride the short term ups and downs , take the divs on the way and smile.

I won't buy until oil is cheap I think if oil goes to a crazy price like early 50s late 40s, I will load up on these kind of stocks, petrofac, aveva etc .... hopefully by then this old pup will be sub £10. Right now, I see no reason for an oil bounce.

Re: Fall today I'm guessing as a lot of their business is in the oil industry & yesterday's OPEC meeting ended with members disagreeing to do nothing, the oil price has been falling and share prices of all businesses associated with the oil industry seem to have been coming down in sympathy.

Re: Loss overdone >>>>The markets are currently being driven by fear at the moment (though not of anything we haven't known about for some time) - fear of rising interest rates, fear of the Eurozone economy, fear of Hong Kong imploding into turmoil, fear of Russian/European sanctions hurting the world economy, fear of the Middle East exploding, fear of ebola contaminating the world. <<<WOW!!...Im glad I dont watch/read the news!!!...I wasnt aware of any fear in the markets..I wonder wot happened to make the US markets hit new Highs..have all these issues been resolved??of course not..like I ses..there was never any fear..its just the machines bouncing off pivots...
