Teasing RNS today Maybe Nick needed to ensure all information was officially out before the SP Angel article? Or just coincidence.

Arc Minerals* (ARCM LN) - BUY [link] Company News Arc Minerals* (ARCM LN) – 5p, Mkt Cap £29 m – Site visit shows copper, cobalt mineralisation in drill core and in stockpile material BUY (Arc holds an effective 71.34% of Zamsort and around 73% of Casa Mining’s Akayanga project) • Arc Minerals is pulling some very interesting copper mineralisation out of the ground in its 11,000m drill program. • The drilling team were well into their second drill hole when we dropped in on the project last week and have now completed five holes totalling some 875m of diamond drilling with two rigs in operation. • When we say dropped in, we mean after several days of travelling and six hours in the car from our refuge at the Royal Solweizi Hotel. • Zambia is easy to drive, though the through traffic from the Copper Belt and the Congo does create significant congestion of slow-moving lorries. • The journey to Zamsort is interesting and definitely worth the trouble. The villages on route are friendly and even the stern looking guards around First Quantum’s Trident mine, which is on the way, managed a friendly smile. • Zamsort is a project which lies beyond the road beyond. More precisely, it lies another four hours on a dirt road beyond Trident, the last project on the Zambian Copper Belt. Fortunately the locals appear friendly even if they do think we are Chinese. • We were struck on arrival at the project by the size of Zamsort’s small-scale copper, cobalt processing plant. The plant is substantially complete with first saleable production and cash flow expected this year. • Plant capacity was initially planned at 15tph assuming a leach-tank residence time of 6 hours and recovery rates of 95%. This may be expanded to 45tph if residence times are decreased to 2 hours • The plant should produce concentrate grades of 30% copper and 5% cobalt as a cobalt sulphide. • There is plenty of leach tank capacity at 90tph but if plant capacity is increased then the team may need to upgrade crusher and ball mill. The Filter press has a capacity of 5tph though this is not a constraint as the material is concentrated at this end of the process. • The plant is to be powered by a 450kw diesel generator though this would also need to be expanded to 1-2MW for further expansion. • The team still need to install jig and screen to upgrade material and remove talc but the plant appeared to have all the major components installed • A short 1.5km access road connects the plant to the proposed open pit • The process plant is relatively simple as it is designed to treat simple oxide material to start and some selectivity in the mining should help to improve process plant performance to start. • The ore in the open pit is highly weathered and oxidized for approximately the first 10m with a transitional zone for the next 7-10m. Sulphide ores are then thought to be present for the next 17-36m • Inspection of the second drill hole showed no oxide with predominately bornite mineralisation. Bornite is a good copper carrying mineral to have with this mineralisation running 56m down the hole. • Visual indications of the mineralisation appeared to get better with depth • The core appeared to contain Chalcocite, chalcopyrite, bornite, Heterogenite and carolite and maybe also some Gold

Teasing RNS today Not from what it says but more from what it doesn’t say. Whilst an update is always welcome, on the information given there was almost no real reason to issue one, they could have waited until concrete test results were known. Yet the impression from reading the RNS is that they know the test results will be good just by looking at what has been drilled. Should be an interesting couple of months

Can ARC Minerals bull run continue? Jay Yes it is one of the very few improvements on the new site! Not sure exactly how long the facility lasts, presumably 24 hours?

Strange day Well no news and another 5% rise, perhaps investors are waking up to the potential here.

Jay053 20 Jul 2018

Strange day It might be because Arc is a fantastic share to own, and everyone wants a bit! Or maybe a little leaky? I was planning a top up at around 4p… I might have to revise that.

Small_Holding 20 Jul 2018

Strange day Not complaining with around a 10% rise on the day but why? No RNS. no news, so why is ARCM suddenly attractive today? Is there news coming or have people suddenly woken up to the ARCM potential? I await Monday to see if something is brewing

Very positive interview with Nick Von Schirnding Proactiveinvestors UK Arc Minerals ups stake in Zamsort, kicks off new drilling programme Nick von Schirnding, executive chairman of Arc Minerals Limited (LON:ARCM), caught up with Proactive's Andrew Scott following their investor evening in London.

Arc Minerals - My view In my view we, as investors in Arc, are fortunate to have Nick Von Schirnding as our Executive Chairman. Having worked as a Senior Executive with Anglo American and De Beers, he was then the CEO of Footsie listed Asia Resource Minerals. In June 2014 Nick was ousted as the CEO of Asia Resource Minerals by a shareholder vote. An FT article at the time said; ”Analysts at Barclays said Mr von Schirnding’s departure was disappointing, saying he had built “strong and trusted relationships with institutional investors and the market”. The decision to replace Mr von Schirnding is likely to cast further doubt on how long Asia Resource may remain in London.” Nick at the time was quoted as saying “When I took over as CEO at the end of 2012, the company needed an urgent and substantial overhaul – that job is now done. Value destruction has been addressed and a solid platform has been built for sustained value creation,” Whatever the background to that dispute we now have an experienced CEO as our Executive Chairman with all his contacts in the industry. As I see it their loss is our gain, no doubt after having been ousted as a Footsie CEO Nick would have been angry at the way he was treated and, in my view, he would want to show those investors that they were wrong to vote him out. What better way to do that than by turning a minnow mining company into a thriving mid cap miner. Since Nick took over he has changed the management, changed the company name from Ortac to Arc, changed the company portfolio focus towards Africa, started getting rid of non- core assets and turned a company valued at £2 million into one currently worth around £24 million market cap. I believe Nick is a man on a mission, with a point to prove. He certainly isn’t standing still since he joined the company. The strategy he outlined early on he is delivering very rapidly. With the Andiamo operation in Eritrea sold recently, ARC now only has the Slovakian Sturec Gold project to dispose of before all the non- core assets have been sold. Nick clearly sees the Kalaba Copper/Cobalt as the company’s main focus and having gained a majority interest he is now adding as many shares as possible, the current holding is 61% but I think we all know he won’t be happy until it is 100% owned by Arc. The Casa Mining Gold project was seen as the weaker of the two African projects but after this recent resource update it has grown in stature considerably, so much so that Nick describes it as a game-changer. It is now a project with a resource of 3m ounces of Gold which Nick conservatively values at $30m. We don’t know if this project will be sold outright or whether Arc will sign a joint venture with another player to operate the mine. My gut feeling is he might sell it if a fair price can be agreed, he is reigning in drilling so that tells me that he is happy with the 3m ounces to market this project. IF he could sell Casa at a reasonable price that would provide enough cash to pay for any future purchase of shares in Zamsort/Kalaba and crucially go a long way towards funding the development of the project. In summary, we have a very good experienced Executive Chairman with useful industry contacts and a point to prove, he is delivering everything he said he would and doing so rapidly, with this game-changer resource increase the Casa Mining project has a value potentially as much as Arc’s current market cap and if that is correct the jewel in the crown, Kalaba, is currently thrown in for nothing. I believe the potential upside here is considerable. AIMO, DYOR

Nick on Proactive A couple of interesting points made duriing this interview. The increased resource at Akyanga changes ARC’s position on the map and this project now is more attractive to others. There has been interest from some Chinese players. ARC are in the process of signing an MDO (Mine Developer Operator?) with a group that might lead to a Joint Venture or an outright sale.

Nick on Proactive Nick von Schirnding, executive chairman of Arc Minerals Limited (LON:ARCM), discusses with Proactive their updated 3mln ounce gold mineral resource at the Akyanga Deposit in the eastern part of the Democratic Republic of Congo. He says a near-term exploration target of a further 200,000 to 600,000 ounces of gold in the Akyanga east area has been set, together with further exploration targets along the 55km gold belt within its 133km² mining licence.
