Re: 3 of the best So whats wrong with 32RED?

Nige the snake 10 Jan 2016

3 of the best Hi I thought i would try an experiment and ask members of this bb to suggest 3 good share tips for 2016. The idea is to post this same message on other bbs where the sp has done well over the last year and give feedback after listing them all on a virtual portfolio. Its not a competition its to get and share information. If I get enough takers I will set up a Facebook Group with all the information received. My three are 1 African Potash,2 Vodaphone, and 3 Hydrodec.

Re: Why the 20% drop? You could also ask - Why the 70% gain from July which appears overcooked. This share has been on a massive tear up and left the FTSE All Share for dead. Perhaps the profit takers have moved in to rebalance their portfolio?Perhaps holders wanted to sell thinking we are going to have a general sell off on the markets! If you invested at 60p in June and July who is to say your wrong to cream off a bit Xmas spending money.

Why the 20% drop? nm

Re: Share Price I'll be honest that it was Simon Thompson in IC that drew my attention to this one and I punted a bit as he's had some good results. My own investigation supported his tip, and as I'm in GVC too I'm not unaware of the potential rewards with this sector in terms of cashflow.

Re: Share Price Yes fouriron, I am also a bit surprised and I did post on 24th September just after purchasing. However, I have found that the number of posts does not correlate with the quality of a company and research has shown that some of the worst companies have the most posts. Some of the companies I regard as excellent long term holdings hardly have any posting activity so perhaps this is a good sign. I bought because 32Red has an excellent return on capital employed and is apparently quite conservatively managed, with a good track record and a CEO with a huge financial stake in the business. On the other hand, I don't understand why people find its bingo/casino products attractive, but the financial figures clearly indicate that quite a few do!

Re: Share Price No, but I have serious regrets about not buying into this. I've had it on my radar since 30p but never pressed the buy button.

Share Price I am surprised there have not been any posts since late-September, when most of them were rather negative, especially as the SP has increased by 50% since mid-October. Anyone any thoughts as to why?

Re: Sold out Good assessment, and interesting that you think the shares are worth about half because I have around 40p as my buy target. Otherwise I'm staying out, particularly in the current markets.

Greyinvestor 24 Sep 2015

Sold out My reasoning behind selling out is that I think 'real' profits are just shy of £1m at the half year. Italy sounds like a mess to me. Even if you achieved double that in the second half year, a market cap of £62m seems far too high for me. This is a small business that now has a less stable growth record. To my mind the shares are worth more like half the current price, and after some bumpy recent investments like PFL, I'd rather switch to something more solid. Good luck to shareholders, though.

NEW ARTICLE: Betting big that 32Red shares will double "The dreaded point of consumption tax (Poc) threatened to damage LSE:TTR:32Red during the first half, but the online casino firm managed to keep growing revenue. In fact, it generated record sales in the six months. With a refreshed business model ..."[link]

Re: Results out The company's adjusted earnings per share of 2.48p to 30 June is almost half way to the expected annual figure of 5.9p so it is quite possible the expected earnings will be achieved, particularly as the company says that trading in the second half is strong. However, I would agree that the real earnings rather than adjusted earnings is the better quality measure.

spankaroo 24 Sep 2015

Re: Results out Agree. No way its can achieve current yr consensus eps of 5.9p even on a normalised basis. As for stripping out the Italian investment, well that's a normal business expense and is part of its ongoing business, thus a normal expense IMHO
