Re: Stupid Question.... You are no doubt correct on the first statement, however I found the following strangely worded in the Corporate Action "In the event that the company is not able to appoint a new Nominated Advisor within one month of 19 December 2014 the admission of its securities on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) of the London Stock Exchange will be cancelled."Which could be read as saying for the next month TEG is still listed on the AIM (hence potentially tradable), which doesn't line up with the suspension of trading some weeks ago.I guess I'll just have to stick the loss in my tax return and see if the authorities accept it or not

Re: Stupid Question.... I think I am correct in the content of my first sentence ie suspension/administration = no market. No market = no ability to trade. From what you say it certainly looks as if your loss can't be offset against any profits. I haven't bothered to look at the link as I have a job to understand UK tax law let alone.................Good luck!

Re: Stupid Question.... Not sure that's true fouriron. The Bundesfinanzministerium (Ministry of Finance) have stated "Die Liquidation einer Kapitalgesellschaft ist keine Veräußerung der Anteile an dieserKapitalgesellschaft". i.e. A company going into liquidation is not the same as selling an investment in the company. In Germany, you can only offset profit made by selling shares against losses made by selling other shares. Here's the link if your German is up to it (paragraph 63)[link]

Re: Stupid Question.... The suspension of the shares and administration of the Company takes away the market in TEG shares. Confirmation of NIL return to ordinary shareholders will crystallize your 100% loss.

Re: Stupid Question.... It is not a stupid question. I would also like to know

Stupid Question.... I think I know the answer to this, but is there any way to sell shares in TEG? Even at 100% loss? It would help my (German) tax situation.....

Re: the shares are only suspended From their 25th November - "The Board continues to explore all financing and strategic options for the Group but it does not believe that further funding will be secured to allow for the future working capital needs of the Group. Regrettably, under the likely structures that can be achieved, the Board believes that there may be little or no value remaining in the equity of the Group. "

the shares are only suspended I realised that the shares are only suspended, ie the company continues to trade. The company is actively talking to its key accounts and contracted suppliers about their willingness to transfer contracts. This kind of activity normally means a sale of the company is being pursued.one supplier I spoke to feels very strongly that an offer is imminent.
