Re: Dividend to fall to 80.0p -2019/2020 Well, no I couldn't find any mention of the possibility of Retail (or "SSE Energy Services" paying a divi in the future. I stand to be corrected, but I'm not impressed at all.Suppose that we could flog our new holding in Retail and buy more in SSE - assuming that's what they're going to be called.

Re: Dividend to fall to 80.0p -2019/2020 Hi critterman, the bit that I haven't yet found is just what sort of divi, if any, we might expect from our stake in the demerged Retail business. My eyes just glazed over as I was reading it this morning - truly - and I'm now going to have another attempt. Truth to tell, there should have been a clear comment on the matter without having to send out a search party. If there were to be a Retail divi of say 17.5p, all would be well.

My View as customer and investor SSE is gormless. I know it is going to spin off retail, but meanwhile as a customer, you get the feeling they don't want you. The user website is pathetic. The 'smart meter' system is anything but smart. What a missed opportunity! They admitted over the phone "It was rushed" The initial renewal price offered was laughable, I had to jump through hoops to get it back to something sensible. And finally we got the government and ofgem kicking the industry round like a political football, partly due to the stupidity of SSE themselves! No wonderthey want to get shot of their retail. Why am I holding? Well it wasn't so bad when I started and the dividend is OK but oh - it could be soooo much better! A bit like UKplc I am afraid.

Re: Results CrittermanIt opened down 20p so happy to see it turn up!

Re: Results "Market unimpressed"Wow, I wonder how it reacts when it's impressed - up 6p as I type.End of day price will be interesting!

Re: Results Lupo's still trying to get his head around the results amongst all the repetitive guff. Talk about wading through treacle!!

Hydrogen Economy 25 May 2018

Results Don't look good with adjusted profit and EPS down 2.4% and 3.6%Reported numbers worse down 38.9% and 47.8% Slight comfort that the adjusted PBT numbers are in line with consensus forecast and EPS slightly ahead at 121p Vs 117.5p. Reported numbers significantly worse than forecasts. You know it's not going to be good news when the first line is a raised dividend. Lots of changes coming with the spin off of retail, unclear how that will play out.Market unimpress

Re: SSE Going Well Morning all - any rumours re next weeks results!

marktime1231 18 May 2018

Re: SSE Going Well With you Pref, was eyeing up an add at 1390 but lacked the hutzpah, now regretting it, wonder if we will get another chance before next week's results. 1420 still value but not such a bargain to go overweight.

PrefInvestor1 17 May 2018

SSE Going Well Hi All,Really like this company but have been put off by the utilities thing, price caps and merger issues. Well done to anyone who piled in at under 1200, you are really laughing now.I should have bought these when I moved out of prefs, I DID buy NG, CNA & UU though - all of which are doing pretty well now. Going to set a limit order to buy a few at 1385 and see if it gets filled, been there within the last week so just might go there again. If I've missed the boat then sobeit. Just cant bring myself to buy at 1400+......ATBPref

Peak switch Fewer customers switching away from CNA, but its price rise announcement may have added momentum since. Comparison sites announcing more switching than ever away from Big 6 so I don't think we have hit peak switch yet.EDF rewarded for its low price rise by gaining 10% of recent switchers but could they be playing a clever of game of bi-annual price points? And where did those switchers come from? If not CNA then ...SSE still waiting to announce its own price rise. NPower's 5.3% announcement didn't cause anything like the sharp response CNA got from Perry/Ofgem, holding back is a good idea then. Can SSE hold off long enough that Ofgem will have to go public on its price cap first?European trade press reporting that the pass-the-parcel between EON/RWE/Innogy/nPower/SSE is adding to natural staff churn, doing the job of the HR Dept for them ... to go with NPower's report in March of improved financial performance, that is deal-enhancing for SSE.How is SSE going to persuade Ofgem that it is good for customers though?

Re: At last I'm still feeling the glow marktime in fact I'm positively bathing in sunshine. So unless anything drastic happens will probably hang in there for a month or two and sell just before xdivi. Thanks for the encouragement.

Re: Iii stupidity Google finance showing the same perhaps there is a link somewhere. VOD showing a drop of 34p too, strange that, do hope it's a glitch I hold both in my ISA.

Norman Barrington 04 May 2018

Iii stupidity What the h@ll is the point of reporting closing prices like this. (Currently showing a bogus -78p) Iii Evidently couldn't give a d@mn as to the accuracy of their data. If they can't do better than this they may as well not bother,
