Re: Cash Net cash was actually down from 29m as of 2015 interim. Cash went to increase stock in anticipation of moving one of their factories in china, which occurred ahead of schedule, and without problems. Cash still good at 22m. Stock should normalise at 2016 year end.Possibility of a special divi, or maybe an acquistion but not guaranteed.Problem is 2015 was a bumper year given the sales in France which they have said have softened. Interims are probably going to state a decrease in EPS, as 2016 trades inbetween 2014 and 2015 figures, and they have suggested 2016 sales will be H2 weighted, which adds some risk to holding this for the interim. I would like to see it back at 2.60.

Re: Cash Just to say that the recent Trading statement advised a significant increase in cash despite Sprue having to fund an increase in inventories to guard against (unfounded) supply problems. One might expect a special dividend payout when the results are announced in April.

Cash Sprue will have a large cash pile when it reports it's end year results. Company advised it is Looking for acquisitions at the right price. Could be a big divi hike if nothing transpires as the major shareholders will be pressurising the board if the cash continues to accumulate.

Re: The directors have sold..... One of the sellers (Chief exec?) sold a small number but still retains more than 7% of the Company! Could be maximising his annual capital gains allowance for all we know. One sounds like he might be a forced seller to pay for is divorce. One non exec has bought quite a significant initial holding and another has sold a significant share of his relatively small holding.

The directors have sold..... ..... and so have I. They don't have faith in the SP rising, so why I should I expect it to?

Re: What's the matter with everybody? Claude,The Sprue Aegis website now shows the BRK shareholding (currently 23.6%) so we will be able to see if they are selling in order to bring the share price down in preparation for a new bid. Why would the shareprice fall today given the news that Sprue Aegis has released?

Re: What's the matter with everybody? Re the new funding for the fire services, I didnt think they would make this up so quickly.Re the new distributorship, not a lot of effect in 2015 but all grist to the mill. Both of these put Sprue where they belong - in the forefront of fire and associated preventative measure companies in Europe.Strengthens my Weak Buy comment of yesterday.

Re: What's the matter with everybody? I was at a company presentation at Mello Derby in November last year. I was later able to have a longer in-depth discussion with the CEO. I was impressed by the potential in France; the replacement of the fixed term sealed units which is coming soon; and the R&D investments in micro-systems which is already bearing fruit but will IMHO come good to a greater degree in the future. They have a small but very interesting R&D section in Ottawa, Canada. I guess that the uncertainty around the manufacturing facility will always spook some, but it was much better that they came out with it; how they are going to handle it with their much bigger US partner (which will make damned sure their supply chain is not affected!) than to leave it dangling in the wings with the prospect that it will come out in the wash at some future date. The loss of parts of the UK business e.g.the one off fire services loss was disappointing but I am confident they will make up for that in the coming 1-2 years. The price is a bit different from the time when the last offer was from the US suitor was rejected but it is always a tempting possibility which would IMHO send the SP soaring. In the meantime, at this price I rate them a weak buy at the very least.

Re: What's the matter with everybody? Claude,I agree with your sentiments completely. I know this company very well for a number of years and have several of its products in my house. Also I would not be at all surprised if its previous suitor has another go at acquiring the company at some future date.

What's the matter with everybody? This isnt a Pressure Technology where the price of oil has sent the rig count to the bottom of the sea and caused a huge dent in the demand for the company's main product elements. This is a very strong company with growing sales hit by what has been hitting companies with major sales into the EU for some time - the relative weakness of the Euro. SPRP has good growth potential, a strong investment in R&D which will further underpin future sales. As the comments in the iii report today indicate, there is strong upside to 400p in the near to mid term. I would expect that to be more near than mid, and I was pleased to have the opportunity to add to my holding at less than 280p earlier today at the height of the rush for the door.Sad, very sad.
