20% up in two days Pleased I held onto these. I’m kicking myself for coming out of Berkeley though, I was uneasy about builders but these have come through with sparkling results.

20% up in two days Very nice. Seem to be rumours that the Far Eastern orders are greater than expected. Last time Apple bought some widgets for their iPhones RSW’s share price doubled. Let’s hope it’ll be the same again, after a couple of year’s share price stagnation. Trading update next Thursday.

SP on a dive LSE:RSW Well clearly one of the directors has faith down here. Straight on market acquisition of 3000 shares at £37.92 means he’s forked out just shy of £114,000 from his own pocket. [link] Regards, ITDYA, still sitting on his hands

Brokers top choice for 2019 says Bell RSW… XXXX Interesting

SP on a dive I think that is exactly the point… decent but not brilliant finals and recent trading statement. When the shares were £55, that was pricing in ‘brilliant’ already. Plus there’s a relatively small free float of shares out there so it does tend to be volatile; me, probably not helping when exercising my stop (£48 on 1000 shares, 1/2 my holding). It’s not that I don’t believe, it’s just stops are stops and I hit them (almost) religiously, well as religiously as any atheist . My next stop is £32 but, if it gets there, I think I might be buying them back rather than selling out. Wait and see on the day, should it ever come. Regards, ITDYA

Results I love this company! My best performing share by a mile.

Results Yup, yet another record year. Any bets against us entering the FTSE100 in the next year? Turnover grew 18 per cent from £536.8 million last year to £611.5 million, there was growth in all of its metrology product lines, in its healthcare product lines, and a record adjusted profit before tax of £145.1million (up 33 per cent). “I am pleased to report our 2018 annual results. We achieved a record turnover for the second successive year of £611.5m (2017: £536.8m) with revenue growth of 18 per cent at constant exchange rates,” said executive chairman and co-founder Sir David McMurtry, in the firm’s preliminary results statement for the year. “We are also reporting a record adjusted profit before tax of £145.1m (2017: £109.1m), an increase of 33 per cent. Our total shareholder return during the year was 48 per cent, ranking Renishaw 18th in the FTSE 250.”

Results Somewhat astonishing actually with growth in Additive Manufacturing (the important bit for me) and medical now in profit. Cash balance doubled and divi up 15%. [link] Games

Profits up, cheers LKH @nettle125, Not necessarily a ‘good’ reason but Goldman downgraded RSW today from a buy to neutral. No other news I can find other than a global trade dispute slowing seeming to get deeper and deeper – too much ego to back down I suspect so maybe just more and more tit-for-tat……… obviously seen as bad for RSW as so much of it’s revenue and profit is from exports. Me, well I’ve been a huge fan for many years, been here before LKH turned up (mind you, it was slightly reassuring when he did). I had some Druck, another high-end engineering company, but it got bought out in 2002 – decent premium to the prevailing SP (and it needed to be) but then you have to issue of what to do with the proceeds; not always that easy to find something else producing solid growth at a ‘sensible’ price. That’s when RSW popped up on the radar although I wasn’t 100% convinced at first. Anyway, took the plunge March 2004 at 499. I’ve top sliced a few times in the hope of getting them back cheaper later (and managed it until the last time – I sold some July 2016 at just under 2600 thinking that price was a bit over the top; I very much doubt I’ll ever see those again!) But, given such a large %age of the shares are tightly held by insiders, the RSW SP has had the tendency to be pretty volatile at times and, given the very high rating, particularly on the downside – doesn’t take much ‘bad news’ for it to take a thumping. I’ve given up trying to be smart here and am just going to hold on to what I have indefinitely unless it drops through a (fairly generous) stop. Regards, ITDYA, disinclined to sell just about my only 10 bagger.

Share Price The profits were reported as good and future looking good but the SP is well down today- People taking a profit perhaps?

nettle125 22 Jun 2018

Profits up, cheers LKH Anyone have any good reason for the share price fall? Is it the unconfirmed rumours of a sighting of LKH on an Alphaville share board that is bringing the mood down?

shareordie 21 Jun 2018

Profits up, cheers LKH He’s been seen on the Ft alphaville messages. Unilever I think. Looks legit

sueneave9 20 Jun 2018

Profits up, cheers LKH Me too! I wonder where he is - he would NOT be pleased with the latest fiasco from iii !

ookyfly 20 May 2018

Re: Profits up, cheers LKH LKH has not posted on any board, including RDS (of which he was a pensioner) for many months now. His silence was sudden, so I suspect he has either done a Cap’n Bob and fallen overboard after a G&T too many or succumbed to a heart attack. In either case, I miss him a lot. RIP if that’s what’s happened.
