Re: That Hedging Gingerexpat, "hardly a case of dodgy leaks from the boardroom."Perhaps not with the hedging, but anyone who has followed RR for some time will have noticed a sharp sell off prior to profits warnings in the last 2-3 years. this kind of thing probably happens all the time in the markets and goes mainly over-looked, except by the poor saps that bought in thinking they were getting a bargain ahead of the next trading statement.With so many profit warnings from RR the pattern became strikingly obvious, in my opinion, and I commented about it on this board on more than one occasion. The chart below just about shows the decline in price in the couple of weeks leading up to each very sharp and steep drop on the profit warning itself. If you're not convinced, look at the chart on a site such as [link] line up the dates of the actual profit warnings. Looking back over a daily chart for 3 years will be even more revealing, but I don't have time to search one out at the moment (yahoo move to weekly prices after 2 year charts).Whether purposeful or just incompetence, it shouldn't be happening at a company like RR. For me it has come to be symptomatic of the general malaise in the company.

Re: That Hedging Doesn't make for good scandal headlines, but the 2bn hedging effect was already predicted by analysts based on history of previous exchange rate shifts - hardly a case of dodgy leaks from the boardroom.

I mean 20% rise on an awful RNS just doesn't cut the mustard with me.So glad I discharged my responsibilities yesterday, which for the moment at least seems a savvy move.Quite comfortable with my short position I opened today, which is already in a decent profit.Providing Bin Ladens extended family don't make a bid for RR over the weekend, I see little reason why this should not decline further next week.

Re: Dropping like a stone today I imagine those who bought over 800p for the long haul are beginning to feel like they were mugged.Such a stench in the air over their misleading comments on Ex rate effects and leaks to the press and an unsustainable pop, that I think those who bought in have grounds to go to the financial ombudsman.I personally would like to see some senior management go. Don't care who, just hang someone as message to others.One can dream that the world is so fair.
