Re: Sold for 60% Just goes to show the value of broker forecasts....how do these people 'earn' their money exactly? TMI has Polypipe as inexpensive this month, they (and I) are holding for more gains this year. Bid target ? Is possible but not on the cards in the immediate future, I think any potential suitor will want to see what the Brexit effect will be and how it impacts on manufacturing, jobs, wages etc., etc. ad infenitum. My target remains over £5, and when this is reached, I'll evaluate the situation then (probably moving the target to £6!!).

Re: Sold for 60% Hi Yertiz,Thank you for your comments.I also understand why others will want to continue to hold as my original thinking they could be a builders merchant bid target and you could well see your £5 target.Current highest broker targets are 4.10 so very close to being there and I would be surprised it brokers upped their targets on the share price with the push thru on prices. Time will of course tell whether this was correct or not.I was also too early selling SFE a while back with my negative feelings towards the sector now.PLP still a great company and may re-visit but negative clouds may gather further to put me off.Including small dividends total % comes out at 65% over that time. I feel more comfortable putting the proceeds into another area of the market where the yields are greater.atb and wish you well if PLP reaches your target.25 Apr 17 Berenberg Buy 402.65 360.00 360.00 Reiterates31 Mar 17 Jefferies International Buy 402.65 350.00 410.00 Upgrades30 Mar 17 Numis Add 402.65 375.00 405.00 Reiterates16 Feb 17 Deutsche Bank Buy 402.65 - - Reiterates09 Feb 17 Berenberg Buy 402.65 360.00 360.00 Reiterates09 Feb 17 Peel Hunt Add 402.65 350.00 375.00 Retains04 Jan 17 Deutsche Bank Buy 402.65 381.00 409.00 Reiterates[link]

Re: Sold for 60% Well done, no harm in realizing profits. I also subscribe to SCSW and understand their viewpoint, but with the increasing and urgent need for more building works (housing, infrastructure and support) I'm inclined to let this run for a while and make a call when PLP is approaching the £5 mark.

Sold for 60% SCSW article pushed me over the edge to bank profit in these from 2014 with SCSW dropping coverage on them with Brexit casting a tall shadow over the sector.Hoping I have not sold too soon but prefer not to give back paper profits.Even with a recent 29% hike in the dividend still quite low really.atb

Polypipe undervalued says Numis Polypipe undervalued says NumisHouse broker Numis Securities reiterated its ‘buy’ on Polypipe Group (PLP) after a steep decline in the plastic pipe manufacturer since the Brexit vote in June.Reiterating his share price target of 330p analyst Christen Hjorth commented: ‘Increased uncertainty following the EU referendum has led to Polypipe’s share price declining by 28% year-to-date, with the group now trading on a 2016 price/earnings ratio of 10.5x and a yield of 3.8%.’He added: ‘In our view, these metrics do not reflect Polypipe’s broad exposure to UK construction activity, track record of market outperformance and strong free cash-flow generation. Indeed, we believe that these factors could lead to a double-digit compounded annual growth rate total shareholder return over the medium term, even if the group’s current rating is held.’The shares added 4.4p or 1.7% to close yesterday at 258.3p.[link]

Good prospects Two recent and decent director buys plus increasing institutional holdings. This is a great buy at this price with a good yield too.Plastic pipe is routinely used in domestic applications replacing copper now. There is a lot of ground work pipe that needs replacing not least cos its old but to deal with increasingly erratic rainfall patterns due to global warming. Not a very analytical analysis i know, but i'm happy to buy and hold this at these levels.AIMHO.

Expert View Special: 5 surprisingly ethical stocks PolypipeDoncaster-based Polypipe Group (PLP) is the UK’s largest manufacturer of plastic piping systems and was listed in London last year. The company is changing the construction of residential and commercial buildings by using recyclable plastic piping (usually made from recycled raw materials) in place of concrete, clay, cast iron and copper. The pipes are more sustainable, stronger and more cost-effective.It is helping the company become a poster child for the ‘circular economy’ and it boasts strong employee health and safety practices. With over 20,000 product lines it reported a 12.8% increase in operating profit this year.[link]
