Factored in price already For the last few weeks it was obvious JKX would shut down their Russian Operations and concentrate on their licence interests in Hungary and Slovakia.Besides their recent gas discovery being a good find, a takeover is always a strong possibilityso this stock has most likely bottomed out at opening today. One to tuck away and double + on.[link]

Regal Petroleum and JKX Oil & Gas.Will deter efforts to increase production and will scare off new investment at the very time you would think that they would want to maximise domestic energy production. The Tax and Budget laws are being rushed through without sufficient time for scrutiny so may benefit from the forces of improvement.

Energy Ministry favours lower subsoil tax rate. So now everyone (except the Min Fin and that's only a matter of time) are in favour of returning to the July tax rate in order to promote domestic production of Oil and Gas.---------- ----[link] Ministry of energy and coal industry advocates for establishing the rates of royalties for subsoil use in the production of natural gas, which is not for the needs of the population, at 28% (for gas from deposits of up to 5 km) and 15% (for gas from deposits of more than 5 km) in 2015. Appealing ? When the Ukrainian Government and Gas industry get together in March for the annual Adam Smith Conference, will they look back with regret at the money they spent in December 2014 on legal fees appealing court cases?Or will they reflect that money spent on a few bottles of mineral water, peanuts and constructive discussion to promote domestic gas production was the better investment? --Wil the Gov appeal the court's decision ?16-12-2014District Administrative Court overturned the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 647 dated November 26, 2014, under which about 170 major industrial consumers committed to February 28, 2015 year purchasing natural gas from Naftogaz of Ukraine.[link] 6th annual Adam Smith Ukrainian Energy Forum will take place on 3 – 5 March 2015 at the Hotel Intercontinental in Kyiv.- More domestic gas producers than ever, including Shell, Ukrgazvidobuvannya, JKX Oil & Gas, Geo-Alliance, Burisma, Arawak Energy, Naftogazdobycha, Cub Energy, Serinus Energy, Cadogan Petroleum and Misen Energy;- Top representatives of all the key government bodies and state-owned energy companies, including the State Geological Service, the State Commission for Mineral Resources, National Energy & Communal Services Regulatory Commission, NAK Naftogaz of Ukraine, NAK Nadra Ukrayny, the State Agency for Energy Efficiency and the Ministry of Finance.

Highest volume for a year -close to the bottom ? Rather than face the risks that shutting down production entails, JKX should contact a gas trader such as:[link] Who might be able to do the leg work of finding a number of small customers who would buy the gas that JKX is temporarily unable to sell.In 29 days the higher production tax is likely to revert back to normal so I don't think that they will shut down production.

Re: Sanctions to hit JKX? / Lambrinigirl Lambrinigirl - Of all the many guesses you make (all over the place), you are bound to get one or two right. But also here at JXK your guess of 'down to 26p', which looked pretty near the mark, has proved to be wrong, as the price has gone down to 16p! So even the rare ones you appear to get right you get wrong. Need to be a woman to be able to do that.Love,ws

Re: A shame... You are spot on with your comments. But this share has been well and truly hammered so maybe it does not deserve to drop much more. I could say the same for Petroneft. JKX graph islooking like it is worth a buy for recovery. But it may take 3 years to make a decent return.[link]

A shame... Poor old JKX! Hammered by political/government decisions, powerless to fight the system.A right shame for a good and well run Company!Difficult to see any appeal in the shares in the present circumstances.IMHO,WS
