Re: Current NAV is 660p !!!! ..... big d... Good point Zouppybut on the other hand, Vodaphone is a single profit making business of its own .... ....... where as fund managers bring in capital to India for all manner of Indian businesses. The profits stay in those businesses, and in India. The fund manager is not the exclusive owner of all the shares or the profits generated. Many Indians benefit themselves from the broad investment, the wages, and the GDP generated.SAGE

Re: Current NAV is 660p !!!! ..... big d... Your guess is probably as good (or better) than mine. Indian govt track record of beating foreigners with the tax stick is pretty good though. Ask Vodafone.

Re: Current NAV is 660p !!!! ..... big disco... Read the front page of today's FT Companies section. The Indian government is up to its old tricks of levying some retrospective taxation of Indian fund managers which will presumably hit JII. I have no idea what the impact will be (if any) but suspect the uncertainty is behind the discount.
