Re: Oil price no worry for FKL LOL!If the shareprice declines much further we could be reaching the point where the true resale value of the niche MOMART division, the ferry business + net cash on hand could be worth more than the market value & the entire profitable & improving Falkland Islands businesses, almost none of which is dependent on oil prospecting could be in for free.I have not bothered to give any value to the FOGL shares;I have always considered them as a possible bonus!

Re: Oil price no worry for FKL We're nearing the point where we get FOGL for free when buying FKL. Or are we already there?

Re: Oil price no worry for FKL NOTE as this is the FKL thread, I meant the previous comment to reflect all the FI oilies.

Oil price no worry for FKL As we all know the oil industry of supply and demand is going through a tremulous time partly caused by demand slipping and the role that shale gas is playing in the USA, but what we are mainly seeing is a power struggle between the OPEC and none OPEC countries, again a fact I think we all accept.Whilst accepting that within a couple of years, demand will be pushing supply, I tend to look at the situation in a simpler way when it comes to were we are headed. This to my mind is like a supermarket price war obviously on a far bigger scale, and we all know how they end up, once the dust has settled and the smaller struggle for a profit outfits have gone to the wall, the average price ends up higher. With the FI fields being new and not due to come on line for at least a couple of years, I feel that Fogl will be well placed (pun intended) to take advantage of the higher price of oil that's to bound to return.

Re: 2 pronged approach IMO you don't pay ( or little ) for the oil related part. They have managed through the years to pay a nice div from their other operations. And in a time no one was speaking already of oil exploration in the Falklands.Oil is the icing on the cake. It's still the dreaming part but it could be enormous when dream becomes reality.

2 pronged approach I had been waiting for an entry point in this intriguing company. It seems quite capable of diverse & profitable activity in most conditions, despite Argentinian attempts to interfere in tourist visiting. The big prize of supporting a major drilling capaign and the associated personnel/supplies once again hovers on the horizon, even if oil is a hope rather than a productive reality. The title reflects my thoughts that you may win here whether oil produced or not and also when one sector (art, tourism, ferry, construction, fishing, oil/gas) has a bad year.Tucking the shares away with a nice dividend to sustain a long term hold.PB

RNS Results better than they look at first glance. The FIC section has done very well, leading the other sections of the parent company, with Momart for the first time bringing in results that have dipped a tad from previous results.Looking ahead to the next 6 months, things look nicely placed to progress forward and looking even further ahead, my investment in FKL is looking positive.Remember that the suppliers of infrastructure always lead before those who are there customers (klondyke gold rush) start to make productive progress. Not ordering the Bentley quite yet but 2015 is looking interesting to say the least!
