Hensington Holdings 16 Sep 2015

Re: must be dreaming Maybe a third offer. This ime for the whole company. Found this on the EKF website.Announcement under rule 2.4 of the City Code on Takeovers and Mergers EKF Diagnostics Holdings plc (AIM: EKF), the AIM listed point-of-care, central laboratory and molecular diagnostics business, notes the recent press speculation and announces that further to the previous announcements of two non-binding preliminary proposals for its Point-of-Care business, it has received a highly preliminary approach from Jinjing (Group) Co., Ltd (“Jinjing” regarding a possible offer for the entire issued and to be issued share capital of the Company. There is no certainty that this approach will lead to an offer being made for the Company, nor as to the terms on which any offer may be made.

Sale Thanks for heads up loosemouse.Watched programme and certainly seems to be some interest at a very good price for 1/3rd of the business. Mention of due diligence and possibly other offers for that part/all of the business. All seems positive.

Re: N+1 Singer Just bought 6400 at 21.4. This is showing use a sell.??

nk1999 30 Jan 2015

N+1 Singer "N+1 Singer reiterated its "buy" rating on medical instruments and reagents outfit EKF Diagnostics (EKF), with a 12 month target price of 26p. This came after the company's trading update for 2014 indicated slightly better than expected revenues of 40.1 million pounds. However, the broker had cut its forecasts for the company earlier in the year and results were well short of those levels. The shares dropped by 2p to 20p."Correction: Price down 1.5p at 20.5p at close.

From III "EKF Diagnostics (EKF)20.25pEKF Diagnostics (EKF) is different to the other companies in this article because it is already profitable and it has a strong management team which has succeeded in the past with other businesses. That does not make the management immune to disappointments, though.Last year, the specialist diagnostic products supplier was hit by the loss of revenues at the Selah Genomics business acquired earlier in the year because reimbursement payments for Selah's drug metabolism genetic biomarkers in the US have been sharply reduced. Another recent acquisition, DiaSpect, a Swedish manufacturer of point-of-care haemoglobin analysers, has also performed disappointingly. All this has been compounded by adverse currency movements. EBITDA still increased 29% to £6.2 million in 2014.Underlying diluted earnings, excluding amortisation, per share are estimated by Canaccord Genuity to have improved from 0.32p to 0.57p - although there would be a loss if amortisation is included. Net cash was around £3 million at the end of 2014. A further trading update is due in the next few days.Chairman David Evans and chief executive Julian Baines have been involved in successful AIM-quoted businesses before, including BBI, which was acquired by Inverness Medical (now known as Alere) and there is no reason to believe that they will not make a success of EKF. Former Alere boss Ron Zwanziger appears to agree because he has built up a shareholding in EKF and is in talks about becoming chairman. The share price is below the level it was three years ago and almost half the 12-month peak, but EKF still needs to show that it can get its recent acquisitions to supplement organic growth."[link]

Re: Drop/rouble 2013 sales to Russia were £3.9m and the accounts show that a ROE of 50.155.Today's ROE was 96, at the close.Presumably that's bound to make a difference, unless there was a hedge in place or similar?m
