EAT 2020 Dividend I think the Annual Report is normally issued around early March, but there was an updated factsheet published on their website on 10 December 2019 if you missed that one? Absolutely agree on the capital aspirations, but I hold these primarily for regular income, hence the reason I am pleased with the announcement today. Totally unexpected, but very welcome for me. EAT 2020 Dividend "The 2020 dividend will be paid in four equal instalments of £0.01755 on 31 January, 30 April, 31 July and 30 October 2020. The January dividend payment of £0.01755 will be paid to shareholders on 31 January 2020, having an ex-dividend date of 16 January 2020 and a record date of 17 January 2020. " Last January the annual big dividend was 1.9665 eurocents, when I think the exchange rate was about 1.16 so equivalent to 1.69 pence. The new dividend of four x 1.755 pence is welcome, and no currency or foreign tax nonsense. I am more interested in EAT delivering NAV progress from 117p during 2020, or closing the gap to a sp discounted at around 109p today. Sensitive to GBP:EUR movement since the underlying stock is all valued in EUR to start with. Currently about 1.18, will we recover some of the way back to the 1.32 level last enjoyed before the June 2016 Brexit referendum? If so that will depress progress in the sp now quoted in Sterling, or have I got that the wrong way round? Are we due a report on stock holdings performance and outlook, EAT was supposed to be a basket of small and mid size european growth companies converting surplus capital gain to income but we are underwater from a NAV equivalent of 130p two years ago.

EAT 2020 Dividend 2020 Dividend RNS detailed below. Really nice increase in dividend for year (17.2% over 2019), but also really useful that this is now calculated and paid in Sterling, meaning that we now have certainty on our investment income from this IT over the next 4 quarters. Good start to the year in my view, and my best wishes to all investors for 2020! BP. RNS: Total dividends declared for 2020 will be £0.0702 per share. This represents an increase of 17.2 per cent from the 2019 dividend of £0.0599. · Continued policy of six per cent dividend on year-end net asset value per share for annual distribution to shareholders. · With immediate effect the dividends of the Company are now and will in future be declared in Sterling a change from the previous practice of declaring in Euro. This change will provide greater certainty of income for the overwhelming majority of the Company’s shareholders who choose to receive their dividends in Sterling rather than Euro. · Dividend to be paid in four equal instalments of £0.01755 in January, April, July and October 2020.

European Assets Trust - Bail out or add? Devonplay Agree with your strategy. Gives EU diversification with dividends Deep

devonplay 09 Jul 2018

European Assets Trust - Bail out or add? I’m not worried about getting the div, I more intrested if it creeps down on the 12th. It could drop by 1.78% on the day, if it drops by that or more, I might go for it. If not, nothing lost. DL

European Assets Trust - Bail out or add? I think if you buy on the 12th of July the seller will get the dividend, you need to buy before that!

European Assets Trust - Bail out or add? Just in time for me to get Hargreaves cash, ITE out the way and complete another purchase I have in mind. I’ll be taking a keen interest in the 12th. If we get a sizeable move down I might add a bit more. DL

European Assets Trust - Bail out or add? According to thedividend declaration announcement the dividend will be paid 31/07/2018. The ex-div date is 12/07/2018.

European Assets Trust - Bail out or add? I’m waiting to add. I’m keeping a close eye on it. I believe it goes ex-div in August, that might be the opportunity of a better price. Overall I’ve held this for sometime, generally adding on weakness. I see no reason to change that strategy. DL

European Assets Trust - Bail out or add? Unfortunately you’ve caught the downward slide of this Trust in the 12 months. I’ve held for about 3 years so am still in a small profit, but the dividends make it worth hanging onto in my case. I think the numbers coming out of the Eurozone lately have not helped EAT, so if you’re not investing for income, there are doubtless better investments. I’m not in any other European IT’s, so can’t suggest an alternative.

European Assets Trust - Bail out or add? I’ve held European Assets Trust for almost 12 months now and whilst I know such investments are long term, the value is down by almost 10%n in that time. I’m looking for any encouraging opinions of this trust. Should I be bailing out or be adding to it? I know it has an attractive dividend but… It amounts to 3.3% of my overall portfolio if it matters.,.

Recent discount to NAV Closing bid prices now displayed correctly tonight, so that really helps.

Bahia_Prince 13 Jun 2018

Recent discount to NAV I am still here also, but not very impressed by the new site. Main grumble for me is that the closing prices are not displayed for all IT’s (I currently own shares in 16 companies, 9 of which are IT’s), so I really do not get that end of day portfolio view that I liked to monitor. I remain happy with my investment in EAT, but am unlikely to add any further meantime until the dust settles on Brexit, Italy etc. BP

Recent discount to NAV Hi Gardener, I was going to wait until they went ex-div early August. DL

Recent discount to NAV EAT has fallen to a discount to NAV in recent weeks and I managed to buy some more at 116.5p about 2 weeks back. The SP is recovering again now but there could be further dips. It was covered in Investment Trust Watch by Citywire last week Citywire Investment Trust Watch: European Assets really cheap! Our figures do not lie: shares in popular, high yielding European smaller companies trade below asset value, one of several interesting bargains this week. Also there’s an article in todays FT about the impact of Italian bond volatility on European markets which suggests the fears are overdone. www.ft.com/content/b09b785a-6d66-11e8-8863-a9bb262c5f53?segmentId=3244cfff-ec81-8192-274e-ba1d3f036ca0 I’ll see how things evolve over the summer as £ to Euro exchange rate also a factor. SG PS Not sure how many ‘regulars’ are still here – if any!
