Redleg They are selling redleg spiced rum direct on amazon. 21 reviews so far and 20 of those give it 5 star rating. This is one to hold and come back in 2-5 years I think. Could be looking at a good uplift from the current sub 1p.

Good news today regarding uk supermarket group.....Tesco's probably as I think we supply Ireland already....? love to see that on the shelves for sale Was hoping that we would get full access to usa market for Red Leg but going to have to wait a little longer.Wonder if SP will finally break 1(p) barrier and stay above.

Piece from today Distil is looking to cash in on the American MarketGary Newman | Friday 10 April 2015Generally I tend to stay away from the really tiny AIM shares, but recently one has caught my eye that I think has potential. Unlike many of the popular ones with a market cap of sub-£10 million, this isn’t some oil or mining company promising the earth with some old license no one else wants, or an investment shell company.Distil (DIS) is in the alcoholic beverages sector and was formerly known as Blavod Wines and Spirits, and changed its name last year when it moved its focus from being a distributor of third party brands, to concentrating on its own products. The company owns a number of brands, including the Blackwood name under which it produces gin and vodka, as well as retaining Blavod vodka, and at first glance at the last set of accounts up to the end of September 2014 there is nothing to get too excited about. In fact there was a large drop in revenue caused by the change in strategy, and it made a pre-tax loss of £198,000, although margins rose to 55% and gross profit was up 8%.At that time the company was debt-free, but with net assets of circa £1.7 million you could argue that the current market cap of £3.38 million and share price of around 0.8p are a bit high. But a closer look reveals the progress that is being made in the US, and also the potential size of the market there given that it is now the largest consumer of gin in the world, and especially premium quality gins, many of which are exported from the UK – and Distil has now received initial approval from the US Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau for its Blackwood’s Limited Edition gin (it already has approval for Blavod vodka), with full approval expected any time now.Once that approval is granted the product will be distributed throughout the US, Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico by the Winebow Group, who will also be distributing other Distil products, such as RedLeg spiced rum, as and when they gain final approval in the coming months.Once these approvals have been granted, it is expected that sales will be boosted significantly. Overall they were up by around 12% anyway over the Christmas period, despite a reduction in Blavod vodka in the Ukraine due to the ongoing conflict there. The company currently has enough in the bank for its current activities, having raised nearly £600,000 at 0.8p back in January.Executive chairman of Distil, Don Goulding, has plenty of experience in the sector, having held high level positions at Diageo – including UK managing director - and with a focus on the overseas markets in his past roles. This is the sort of company to put a relatively small amount in, as it is still speculative, and then just sit on the shares long term in the hope that everything goes to plan and it lives up to its potential, in which case you will be in for a very nice surprise with the share price at that time.It isn’t going to suddenly rocket overnight, although the various approvals could see some short-term spikes as the share price has been as high as 1.6p in the past 12 months, but barring any major problems there also isn’t likely to be much downside either. What will really add value here is turning all the potential into actual strong sales figures and profitability, and you may have to wait for a year or two before you really start to see that. I’m not currently holding shares here myself but it is one I’m certainly considering buying a small amount of, and then just holding long term.

Re: Healthy Christmas Trading I hate these misleading RNS's So they enumerate the positive (+12% overall rev own brands) but Bavod was a set back in E europe..... so what is the net effect?

Re: Healthy Christmas Trading from RNSDistil plc ("the Group" or "Distil" (AIM: DIS), owner of premium drinks brands, is pleased to announce that Blavod Black Vodka has been approved for sale in the USA by the US Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau ("TTB". The brand has been re-designed and features new packaging, new label design and an improved recipe. It will be distributed by Kanetz Alcohol Imports Co. a specialist drinks distributor based in Ohio, with a network covering the USA, Mexico, Jamaica and Canada. At the same time, Distil has received initial TTB approval for its premium brand, Blackwoods Limited Edition 60% Gin and has submitted the proposed labelling as part of the two-stage process with full approval expected to take a further five weeks. Once fully approved, Blackwoods Limited Edition 60% Gin will be distributed by The Winebow Group throughout the USA, Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. The Group is also pleased to report that it achieved good levels of sales for its owned premium brands during the Christmas period with increased revenues and a number of new listings with major customers. Overall, revenues for owned brands increased by approximately 12% and net contributions doubled. This was achieved despite a reduction in the sales of Blavod Black Vodka in Eastern Europe, particularly Ukraine as a result of the current situation there. Don Goulding, Executive Chairman of Distil, said: "We now have a growing presence of our brands in the USA following the latest approvals and expect revenues to build progressively as they become established by our distributors. We await approval for RedLeg Spiced Rum and anticipate news in the next couple of months.I'm also pleased to report that our owned brands achieved good overall sales growth during the Christmas period despite setbacks for Blavod Black Vodka in parts of Eastern Europe and we are looking forward to the future with confidence." market research/ For what its worth, did some of my own market research on Saturday regarding this companies products and how there selling.I went into Majestic wines in Southampton and asked did they have 'Red Leg' rum and was pleasantly surprised and pleased when sales rep took me straight to the right shelf. This wasn't the rum shelf but a whole mix of drinks and I drew the conclusion that this must be the 'new to market shelf'.Surprised and Pleased as not only had he heard of it but told me it was selling well.I was pleased to hear this but also to actually visually see our product on the shelf.Figures and numbers are all well and good but to see it ready to be purchased is always nice.Along side was Backwoods and this unfortunately was not selling as well....no reason given, but again just pleased to see the product for sale.I was disappointed that you have to buy, because Majestic is classed as a wholesaler, five or six bottles at anyone time.I just wanted the one,so maybe next time I shall buy all wine and of course Redleg from here.
