Re: Excellent year end trading update today N+1 Singer today reiterate their Buy and 161p target.Their forecast remains at 12.5p EPS this year, and they "feel that there is an attractive investment case at these levels (P/E of c.11x March 18)".

Excellent year end trading update today [link] trading in line with Board's expectations, which should be slightly higher than the market expectations of consensus 11.5p EPS- Wipac have won a second mid-volume auto contract already, and unusually the statement notes the Board's confidence in its continued success- TP expansion worldwide is going well- the two acquisitions have started life encouraginglyA good, solid statement moving into the current year. for which consensus forecasts are 12.95p EPS, with Peel Hunt forecasting 13.34p EPS.

Re: Acquisition and good trading stateme... A great acquisition.1) Using the acquisition as a service provider costs. It's now "in the family" helping to pay for itself even allowing for reduced revenue at the acquisition as others move their business out.2) They are now operating Wipac in effect in the EU for the future, Some manufacturers may follow. Doesn't look very expensive to achieve that.3) They spike competitors that were using the same services and now need to look elsewhere.4) Whatever sensitive information the acquisition has on competitors product, plans, customers etc, is now in CAR.5) It increases design resource in house cheaper in operation that expanding UK headcount.Makes a great deal of sense to me.

Re: Acquisition and good trading stateme... My reading of the statement leads me to conclude that the strategic value of the purchase is what will lever LED sales for Carclo, rather than simply the services revenue that FTLC generates - which if anything is likely to fall in the very short term as they terminate contracts with other LED suppliers, although by implication from the statement balanced for Carclo by lower personnel costs than UK equivalents.IMO a good move for Carclo as it adds value to their LED proposition and thus moves itaway from a pure price point discussion ref China et al.

Re: Acquisition and good trading statement Once again Carclo use language that is at odds with the detail. Just how can a small acquisition like this, that a lot of small investors could find the spare cash for, result in the announcement that, "The Board believes the Acquisition will act as a further catalyst in its stated strategy of rapidly expanding its Wipac LED lighting operations into both the low volume and mid volume prestige car markets."That aside, at least Carclo know the business, which is obviously good."The Board expects the acquisition of FLTC to result in a MODEST improvement in Group profitability in the first full year following Completion given FLTC's lower cost base compared to Wipac's equivalent design resources in the UK." Hardly deserving of the title "earnings-enhancing acquisition" that I read on this board.Well, we'll see how the land looks when the results come in. Are they preparing the LED for sale? Do it, and concentrate on the TP with an un-geared company.

Acquisition and good trading statement Today's RNS is primarily about an acquisition, but most importantly, today's RNS also says this:"The Board confirms that the Group continues to trade in line with its expectations for the year ending 31 March 2017."CAR is now extremely cheap imo on a historic P/E of 11.It's good to see an earnings-enhancing acquisition this morning, adding to the LED division:[link] particular, this will speed up "expanding its Wipac LED lighting operations into both the low volume and mid volume prestige car markets".

Re: Slipping I dunno if it will. Spread is still ludicrously wide so it seems more lack of interest than negative sentiment? That could all change with any news that can be interpreted as good (as opposed to news which really is good)?I'm happy to hold at the moment - but will think about adding if it hits 120. Last topped up at 123p some while ago. I'm optimistic for Carclo business but I do want to see the debt falling and the pension back in a box and I doubt it will go anywhere much before then. cheers

Slipping But will it hit my 120p buying target? Actually, I'm fully invested atm, but could rustle up a cheapy loan.

Re: Word of caution "Personally, I'd like to see it fall further before I'd buy into it again, and then mainly for the prospect of a spot of corporate action."Should have added that I'd buy @ 120p. If it doesn't reach that target, I'll find another home for my spare cash.If it achieves consensus numbers, I see it valued at 135p - all else being equal, ie. no new news/outlook.I know that that's way below Peel Hunt's and Edison's targets, but I don't see how they reach those targets (P/E of 9 @ 120p this year - Edison with a target of 148-156p) with such a lot of debt, and PF deficit. Add to that, acquisition risk and some very dodgy past statements and investments, and I'm sticking with my targets. That said, there's every possibility of corporate action. Depending on if or when such action happens, I could be way out. Just hope that the sp falls far enough and soon enough for me to buy with minimum risk and a chance to make a reasonable return.

Re: RNS : Hendersons buy above 13% I haven't posted on this board in a long time, but recently took a small position in Carclo.Henderson's are pretty shrewd investors, and in it for the longer term. This is the second of my share holdings, considerably more modest than I once held in Carclo, they have chosen to invest in - the other being FUM. They built a substantial stake there at around 25-30p a share at a relative low point which persisted for a fair time, but now worth double that having been higher.Given Carclo's experience on touchscreen technology and the Chinese response, which I gotwrong at the time, I agree their position on LED can't be taken for granted even if they are addressing a different market and customer set. I would hope that their customer service proposition adds value to the high end marques they target. We'll soon see if they are maintaining progress - certainly the current tailwind regarding pension deficit issues is lookingmore favourable.

No progress And still the share price falls!!
