Macro Environment This could be a good environment for Latin America.I'm not adding at the moment myself. Mainly because my holdingshave come along way. But, could this be the time for a golden ray of light to fall on Latin Assets?Nothing else in my portfolio is showing even the slightest tinge of red. Just some long term buys are under water. Could we go 10% from here? . DL

Doh - Clearly not I'm staying in for the long term - but anyone fancy a guess at when this will bottom out, after reviewing with an 'independent mindset' ...........i'd estimate BRLA bottoming at 230/250

Re: Has all Brazil bad news been priced?? Brazil still was has a way to go, corruption, commodity prices are not helping:-"Last week the Brazilian Central Bank reduced their growth estimates for 2015, now expecting GDP to contract 1.5 percent from the previous estimate of 1.3 percent. They are also expecting inflation to top 9 percent with the dollar strengthening further against the Brazilian real."

Re: Has all Brazil bad news been priced?? No idea what bad or good news may come out of Brazil or any of the other Latin American countries just hoping that Black Rock has some idea. The dividend is over 5% so worth having. However the price has been in overall decline for about five years. During each of those five years it has a trough and a peak with a difference of around 20% between them. Unfortunately, each of those annual peaks has been lower than the year before. We appear to be in the annual trough of low prices so we might hope that this annual pattern repeats and another peak will give the opportunity to for you to sell at a profit of about 20%. Just because these peaks have occured in previous years doesn't mean there will be one this year.Goood luck.

Re: whoops! >> It is a long play 5 years+.<<I do hope you're right. It has taken them 5 years to drop the price from over £6 to less than £4 so perhaps they can do the reverse in the next 5 years. I do agree that Brazil is an important country; it's just that BlackRock Latin American Trust have not demonstrated successful stock picking shares over the last five years. Let's hope they are more successful in the next five years.

whoops! Sorry that was the first time I have used the insert charts on here.Anyway the heading should have beenThe five year chart tells the whole story. We are getting a nice chiunky dividend of over 5% but that does not balance out the decline in share price. At least last year the profits were up a little. Does anyone have any views on why we should continue to hold this share?
