Share price fall - overdone? Will B’s profit fall 7% if USA hit luxury companies, if no, correction may be unjust?

stutes 02 Oct 2019

LVMH Chairman reported words of wisdom It was reported admittedly some time ago that when one area World is in recession LVMH just sold products elsewhere. Therefore if USA hit luxury sector it just means less is sold in USA but it also means Europe /Rest of world in terms of luxury market has got tougher for USA luxury companies. Another thing wealthy customers likely to buy luxury products when they travel outside USA?

WTO round 1 to USA but round 2 to EU? The US are reported to have won an arbitration on Airbus subsidies being unfair, EU has its own case on Boeing ruling due in 8 months. US have signalled its intention to levy tariffs on luxury goods. It is looking more and more that US needs to export more goods and its numerous trade spats are hurting US companies and US economy - Trump has a choice alienate key trading partners or adopt a more engaging win-win policy.

Down 57p on 175k vol 185k vol up 29p - compare yesterday’s markdown. Makes you wonder on the pricing logic?

Down 57p on 175k vol I do wonder how the market works; on a good day do we see B going up 57p on 175k vol - I suggest less than 20p?

Trump's trade war - Trump boasted trade wars are easy to win, as he enters his final year in office, it seems talks continue but no signs of a deal. He is polling at least 10 points lower than top Democrats. I think the market will now focus on who will replace Trump. China can choose who it thinks offers the best trade terms - Trump looks to me to have run out of time, excuses and the cushion of a strong domestic economy. Once it becomes clear Trump is out I’m expecting investors to return to the market

Low vol The FCA should look at how the market is affected by low volume during the day, high voles in last 15 mins.

Trump over played his spin - no deal and out Trump said trade wars were easy to win - DOD that include a recession in USA or alienating so called allies? It looks as if Trump will be voted out of Office in 15 months’ time, Capitol Hill will curtail him in the meantime. The above scenario is likely to affect B ÷ China buying more from European companies and US consumers switching away from Vhina to other countries - possibly UK? It will take years before the damage is forgotten so B could be set for better times?

Give with one hand take with other? Odd share price gains seem to be almost wiped off shortly afterwards.

UK's 30 days It would also allow B to tap other markets for funding.

UK's 30 days Should B have a listing on the HK stock exchange to appeal more to Chinese consumers? What about a listing in Japan as well?
