Sale of shale assets Tom With you regardless of it being $10.9 or $10.5 Billion. Cash always beats a share buy back for me. All holdings in ISA so tax not an issue I presume it is US not Aus $ Deep

in BLT… XXXXX RNS Sale of assets as mentioned in former post. Sliced the re-buy of ten days ago ( D ) @ 1725p limit lifted after a couple of min’s 8.18 am the spread was 3.8% . Fell back a little but heading for 1730 by 8.45am

Sale of shale assets Correction, it was actually $10.5 billion, plus they sold some other assets to another company for $0.3 billion. Must get my glasses (or brain) fixed.

Sale of shale assets See that BHP have sold their US shale assets to BP for a cool $10.9 billion. They promise to return the money to shareholders. They won’t listen to me, but I would far rather have a nice cash dividend that a share buy-back which as JK Galbraith said leaves you with a similar share of a smaller company.
