Re: Placing positive news I agree, today is a sucker rally or dead cat bounce following drops from 16.75p to 8.75p.the company is obviously going to do a placement, why spend money on an RNS and say you are considering one if you are not.Until that price is confirmed any rally is going to end in tears especially if its lower than 10.25p the current price as I write.my take is we may well close around 11p today, on monday we might well see an RNS for the 200,000000 shares to be issued and hopefully the price somewhere between 6-8p and thne an opening of near this.dont get sucked in I think until the postion and price is clearI no longer hold, I sold at 15.75p and also 13.0p and 11.25p and will not re purchase until the placing price and shares to be issued are clarified.regardsAQ
Re: Placing positive news I agree with all your comments. One thing to note is the company had to make a statement and although they haven't named a price they were always going to be asking for money, they have no real income yet so how are they going to build their product, so it's naïve of people to think that there isn't going to be massive fundraising sooner rather than later. I am waiting for the price to be announced, a slight gamble as the price might be higher than today's SP, but the price will retract to somewhere near the issue price and I'll top up. I'll shove some into my ISA anyway as I think we will go to around 20p in the medium term.
hi Thought zack mir used to be in one direction hope this will settle at one price ie, new offering price
Re: Placing positive news In total agreement with you there. I am sure a lot of people want to hold some of these shares.GLA
Placing positive news Made money on the way and have been buying on the way downMany people have been focussing on the negative effect of the placing and I admit it was a mistake from the company to have said there was a placing in the offing without specifying a priceHowever, there are positive effects of the upcoming placing which will people to SP higher:i) They will be raising money to facilitate manufacture of the product and hopefully convert LOIs into orders. The company will be fully funded for the foreseeable futureii) The roadshow will bring the story to a whole new swath of investors who perhaps weren't aware of the story before. AVO's profile will be much higher. These funds may be buyers in the future. I would be surprised if Woodford didn't have a meetingiii) There is every chance the placing will be oversubscribed. What tends to happen in these instances and if the story is attractive (which is very much the case here), you get a whole load of aftermarket orders which push the SP up post placingiv) Those HFs which have been shorting the stock will have to buy back either on the placing (if they can get any) or in the market. A short squeeze may resultIf you believe in the story, then this issue a god given gift to get in cheap. The placing may come at 7p or the 50d MA, but you won't be able to buy there. Fully expect to see the SP back to the 16p recent highs in the next few weeks/months...DYOR
Re: what a joke Welcome to the AIM market ! Total lack of liquidity.I suppose shares find their correct price eventually even in this dreadful market.
what a joke Sharp movement up there is a statement that there is no reason for it, now sharp movement down there is no reaction from the company. Who is advising them? Do they know the exit door?
hi glad I saw this coming might settle at the 8p a share though depends on the price the powers at be want to settle at in a share issue
Re: hi Typical AIM. Shame because it does detract from a great company in the making. Clearly profit taking, and why not, but this share will come back and hopefully a little more slowly.
hi l am grateful for ,the rise l just wonder if people should be forth coming seems ordinary investers are always a little bit behind when it comes to news first discounted shares are handed out then we are told they want to raise money for more investing and machines please let us no asap no good in telling people after a price rise they want to raise more funds but not the price though, institutional investors not us.
Re: Surprise no comments Should read I stand corrected
Re: Surprise no comments Thank you Fish Lips I stand correctPlease ignore my original post
Re: Surprise no comments I think you need to reread the RNS he's actually increased his holding! Before he held 220 millionAfter he holds 29 Million Direct - i.e. personally and 211 Million Indirectly i.e. through his company that he owns - therefore he's increased his holding to 240 Million up from 220 Million. That's good new
Surprise no comments Surprised no one is mentioning the sale of ordinary shares on the 9th April Albert ColussiSituation previous to the triggering transaction 200,702,431 Resulting situation after the triggering transaction 29,629,630Taken from III newsAnyone know why?
Possible rns this morning Placing due today for £20 million[link] A company whose focus on a specialised form of cancer treatment sprang to prominence last year during the case of five year-old Ashya King will disclose on Monday that it is in talks to raise tens of millions of pounds from investors. Sky News understands that Advanced Oncotherapy, which is listed on London's junior AIM stock market, will issue a statement in the wake of a recent surge in its share price. Spun out of the CERN site in Geneva, where scientists discovered the Higgs-Boson Particle, Advanced Oncotherapy makes specialist machines which use proton beam therapy to treat cancer patients. The company is expected to say that it is in discussions about raising funds to accelerate the development of the machines, and has begun a roadshow of prospective investors to raise the additional capital. Sources said on Sunday that it was likely to involve a placing of new shares with blue-chip investors, with one saying that it was seeking at least £20m. Advanced Oncotherapy announced in January that it had signed an agreement to lease a site on London's Harley Street to establish the UK's first Proton Therapy Centre, which is now under development alongside a sister facility in the US. Formally known as a Linac Image-Guided Hadron Therapy (LIGHT), the machines are regarded as representing an important breakthrough in the treatment of difficult-to-reach cancers because they are able to target cells more precisely. Proton Beam Therapy is used by around 150 British children in the US each year, but the cost, at up to $100,000 (£67,000) each, is far cheaper when LIGHT machines are used. The technique became a national news story last year when the parents of Ashya King took him to Spain to receive treatment or brain tumour that was not available in the UK. The boy's family engaged in a lengthy legal battle to secure approval for him to be treated abroad, eventually taking him to a Proton Therapy Centre in Prague in the Czech Republic. Last month, his parents told a newspaper that their son was free of cancer. dvanced Oncotherapy has seen its shares soar by 418% during the last 12 months, and it now has a market value of more than £150m. The new fundraising is expected to be led by Westhouse Securities, which acts as broker to Advanced Oncotherapy. A spokesman for the company declined to comment on Sunday.
